Honestly don’t bother

Look, there are countless delivery services out there. Just use one of those.

I’ve ordered from citygrab a few times and you pay £3-£4 for delivery, only for whatever you ordered to take hours to come.

Most recently I ordered lunch at 12:00pm, it is currently 14:45pm and they still haven’t managed to find a driver to pick it up. £3. For a 3 hour wait. It’s not lunch anymore, and by the time it arrives it may well be a midnight snack.

Uber eats, just eat, deliveroo. All of these are cheaper if not a similar price for delivery, and they have reliable delivery times. Having spoken to a woman on the phone, who let’s just say didn’t have a voice for radio let alone customer service, I was told that they couldn’t find a driver and that was that, I’d have to wait.

Just use something else, don’t waste your time.

Helpful staff

After an issue getting a delivery as it was slightly outside the radius, they called me back to update the app settings so that I could get my delivery. Really went over and above so I appreciate that. Good choices too!

Very Impressed

Just used CityGrab for the first time and was very impressed with the ease of using the app, the choice of restaurants in Chesterfield and the speed of delivery. It was great to be able to support local businesses. Looking forward to my next order. Thank you CityGrab!

Brilliant service

Was fantastic help durning lockdown and whilst my kitchen was being renovated- happy to support the taxi drivers aswell during this crap time! Thanks for all the meals and for providing this service!

Finally somewhere that delivers to me!

Great choices of local restaurants, even out of the city centre where I normally have a limited choice of places to order from.

Awful

I placed an order today which said it would be 30-45 mins. Could see on the app that the food was prepared in 30 mins but then not delivered until 1 hour and 15 mins later. Don’t offer a delivery service if you don’t have the drivers available. Driver turned up on his phone to someone, which is rude and food cold.

Will never use again and I suggest the same to everyone else. Would give no stars if I could. Disgraceful

Poor, don’t believe a word they say

We ordered food only to be told the outlet couldn’t provide and had cancelled our order, the real facts were the drivers wouldn’t deliver because it was snowing.
The outlet brought the food out to us and we were told Citygrub would refund the £22 taken from my card.....I’m still waiting for that to happen.
Citygrub? Don’t order! If I could give less than 1 star I would

Terrible customer service

They took an order of over £40 and when it didn’t arrive I called the restaurant and they weren’t even open! They were pretty annoyed with city grab too. When I spoke to city grab they were quite unprofessional and bad mouthed the restaurant but assured me the pending payment wouldn’t be taken. It was taken and it took over a month of phone calls and emails to get it refunded. Annoyingly it’s the only option to support some of the independent businesses I like so I have had to use them again but have had as many bad experiences as good.

Great service but one frustrating aspect!

A great app especially supporting taxi drivers in these difficult times, it’s opened up takeaways we wouldn’t normally be able to order from. The biggest gripe is you take the time to fill in the delivery notes, but the driver is never given them, many friends in the same area as me have had the same experience. So, why have delivery notes if they are never passed on to the drivers - this is so important when you live an area which has poor reception - would have been five stars if it hadn’t been for this!

Wow what a fantastic idea

Stay local and support local it’s such a fantastic idea. We’ve ordered a few times now from soap and wine to pizza and curry! It’s all been great! Great delivery times and food was amazing - thanks City Taxi’s for such a great idea 👍🏼👍🏼

Hi, thank you for your feedback, we really appreciate it. CG.

Means to an end

I only use City Grab because I want to support local independents, especially as they can’t open currently.
A major negative is the astounding delivery costs. I can’t justify ordering for just myself as often the delivery is 50% of the actual order on top (so a £10 order costs £15 with delivery).
The food is also usually only luke warm when it arrives meaning I have to put it in the microwave/oven anyway.

Don’t use this app

I have used City Grab for delivery in three businesses over the last year. I have never used it as a customer before, but as a business owner I don’t have many good things to say about them. Generally, working with City Grab wasn’t too bad and I had good dealings with the company, but they’ve really put a sour taste in my mouth this time. The customer service is awful for us as a business and for our customers it’s just as bad. They are consistently late, drivers aren’t being paid fairly and refuse to pick up orders. To top it off City Grab refused to compensate us for food they failed to deliver to our customers. Then when we left a Facebook review because they failed to contact us back for over a month or apologise for the mistake, they deleted our vendor account. Horrible experience and frankly embarrassing considering they claim to have local businesses interests at heart. Much better experience with Deliveroo.

Great app and service

Arrived exactly within the timeframe I specified, amazing selection of local businesses in Sheffield - especially important during a national lockdown. Safe and hygienic delivery of food, polite staff on the phone and in person. Highly recommended!

It is alright

The app doesn’t have many takeaways in my area but, there are at least 1-2 I have bought from. One of the takeaways I have tried on here I have LOVED which is a vegan takeaway. I look forward to trying another 1-2 places possibly.

In my area a lot of the stores say pre-order now or they don’t open many days of the week etc so, if you do like somewhere on there, get in the habit or set an alarm of when the restaurant is open or set an order in advanced.
I like that city grab also offers collection so, when I’m in a central city sometime I will see how many more takeaways there are to choose from on there.

Sort out the app!!!

When it works, this is fine (delivery charge is admittedly high but I recognise this is a sideline for a taxi company in lockdown). However, the app is sometimes useless. I have just spent 30 minutes trying to place an order, and it just crashes about 20 seconds after opening every single time.

Not the best

The only good thing about City Grab is the range of food choice. It’s £6 for delivery which is extortionate anyway considering the restaurants raise their prices on the app too, but then you factor in the delivery drivers and how immensely slow they are at reaching your house too and it just becomes absurd. I’ve had two or three orders now where I track the drivers cab and they make multiple stop offs, and I’m pretty sure they stop at their own homes a lot of the time too as my current driver has been sat somewhere 12 minutes away from me for the last 20 minutes almost. My food is currently going cold sat in his car while he kicks back and relaxes. Disgusting that they charge so high for delivery when their delivery drivers are doing a poor job the majority of the time and your food reaches you late and cold/inedible!

App doesn’t work

Tried to order food and when you proceed to checkout it just says ‘invalid data’ after putting in card details etc. Tried on several cards and phones and it still says the same thing. Annoying because the website worked perfectly but don’t have the option to use the website now because it directs you to use the app. Now just sat hungry! 😢

Works fine but could be better

Just used the app for the first time to order ice cream from Our Cow Molly. The app design is nice and there are plenty of vendors to choose from. Slightly confusing when you add an item to basket then get asked for your phone number. Why? I clicked the back button to continue adding items to basket but it went back to the first page and I had to start again. It is simply because you need an account to use the app, but why doesn’t it just say “please create an account to continue” and provide some context. I think background notifications aren’t working properly too...after ordering and waiting a while for confirmation I opened the app again and then the notification appeared. The notification said to collect in 25 mins but 25 mins from when? For all I know that notification was sat there for 5 minutes already. A definite collection time would be nice. Then a second time I was getting ready to set off and thought I’d check the app and *ping* another notification. Maybe it’s just coincidence that both times I opened the app the two notifications came through? I think a good feature to add would be notes to the shop/vendor/restaurant as we wanted a flavour that wasn’t listed and it turned out we could have swapped an ordered tub for the desired tub. Next time we could order two plain tubs and add a note to swap one for a limited time flavour 🙂

Literally the work company I’ve used

Only plus:

Range of food choices.

Cons:
Expensive delivery charge.

No way to contact City Grab when they are at fault.

Drivers clearly make multiple stops to maximise profit from delivery costs. (Watched then on the map drive to multiple house)

Advertised offers not available in the app (recent 20%)

Drivers take a long time (linked to the above)

Final con....
on the 24th May a driver took an hour to get here. Food was cold as hell! I live 10 minutes away. I called restaurant and they confirmed they collected the food in food time. Only way to contact City Grab was via FB messenger. They confirmed, apologised and said they passed it on to be investigated and I would hear back soon. Nothing!

Company’s make mistakes but it how you deal with it that counts.

Hi Liam, sorry to hear you've experienced issues with the service. Please can you email your order details to orders@citygrab.co.uk so we can investigate this and sort for you? We are currently working on the FAQs/Contact Us page. The delivery fee is paid directly to the driver, and is based on the mileage between your address and the outlet so will vary for each order. Thanks, CG

New app is a backwards step

I have loved using CityGrab and tolerated the slightly clunky and buggy app. Was really looking forward to the new app but have found it a backwards step. I cannot log into my existing account, cannot properly list my address and apple pay support has been removed (although it was pretty buggy before) .

Love the search feature though :)
