About

Civic Notice shows you what your governments are actually working on: who represents you, how each of them voted where the record we hold shows it, and what is on the agenda in the cities and counties we cover. It is a reading tool. It does not tell you what to think about any of it. WHAT YOU GET • Congress and, in most states, your state legislature, plus your city and county where we cover them, in one feed chosen by the places you name. • Upcoming meetings and their agenda items in the cities and counties we cover, before the meeting. • Roll calls by name, where the records we read carry them. • The people who hold each seat, and how each voted where the record we hold shows it. • A government's own summary, where we can show one, labelled as theirs. • A link on every item to its source, so you can check us. HOW WE STAY NEUTRAL Civic Notice is independent: it is not run by, or affiliated with, any government. No scores, no grades, no rankings, and no AI summaries. We do not rewrite the title of a measure, and we do not summarise anything ourselves. Where the record has a gap, the app says so and says whose gap it is, instead of filling it in. COVERAGE Coverage differs by government, and the app says exactly what it holds for each one on that government's own screen. Cities and counties are added one at a time; every state legislature is included, most with bills and roll calls; Congress is covered for both chambers. State legislature bills, roll calls and member records come from Open States, a public database of state legislative data. The current list is always at civicnotice.net. PRIVACY No accounts, no ads, no tracking. The places you name stay on your phone. The one exception: if you name a place the app cannot match to a government we cover, the app sends us that place's name and state, nothing more, once, so we know where to look next. Free, with optional notifications for upcoming meetings in the cities and counties we cover.

What's New in Civic Notice

• Search for a word and tap the link under the search field to see the titles that mention it, then titles listed for related phrases, each saying which phrase listed it. The full list of related phrases, and how it is made, is in the app. • Searching across your governments no longer stops at 50 results: tap Show more for older ones. • Settings asks for your "City or CSD", so a community services district can have its own tab wherever Civic Notice covers one. • A government we start covering shows up when you come back to the app, not up to a day later. • When we can no longer read a government's meeting calendar, the app says when we last read it. • An item's outcome no longer blames the government for a gap in the record we hold. • If you name a place the app can't match to a government we cover, whether a city, a CSD or a county, the app sends us that place's name and state, nothing more, once, so we know where to look next. Everything else stays on your device. Details at civicnotice.net/privacy.
