Top reviews

Code.

That’s app keeps kicking me out saying I need a code and then do my password but when I click on the code it kicks me out of the app if I click on password it kicks me out of the app.

AWFUL

This is a mess. A tangled database. Not worth the money. Type 2 diabetic with stage 4 Kidney failure. Low potassium low phosphorous. Requesting a refund. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

Eat This Not That

Not even worth the energy to download much less the price. I deleted this app the first hour after I purchased it. The information is limited and can be found on the CKD resources on line at no cost!

Is this an active app

Sadly I can’t even get it to setup.

Response from developer

Wish you had contacted us via email so we could help. The most common problem when setting up profile is people forget to close the on-screen keyboard before attempting to tap on Sign Up or Save button.

Don’t do it

Total waste of money. I can’t even get signed up for an account. The app doesn't work at all.

Someone please tell me how to get my money back.

Response from developer

Wish you had contacted us directly, so we could help you earlier. You need to close your on-screen keyboard before you can tap on Login or Save buttons.

Fix it and I will rate higher and change my review!

I read several other reviews and they’re all the same. This app gives wrong information. I put my profile on CKD with low potassium and it STILL told me things like bananas were okay. THEY’RE NOT OKAY! AT ALL!
I. WANT. MY. MONEY. BACK.

Horrible App

Please don’t buy it. You can’t even open the app. Totally useless. Design by thief’s!

Response from developer

I am sorry that you could not open the app. I wish you had contacted us so we could help you to do so. Naturally no app gets listed on Apple App Store if there is an issue with opening and running the app.

Huge Disappointment

Waste of time!

Response from developer

Thank you for taking the time to give us feedback. We would really appreciate it if you could elaborate on where we did not meet your expectation or what capabilities in our app description, we did not deliver on. Thank you.

Do Not Buy

This app is garbage it doesn’t work. You can’t even click or speak. I’m disputing the charge.

Response from developer

Sorry about your experience, but you need to close the on-screen keyboard before you can tap on any buttons. The app works well and it is our top selling app among 36 apps.

Inaccurate Info

Having kidney disease and high potassium I have been looking for an app that would be a quick reference to let me see foods that are high in potassium. I found this I was excited and purchased it. My first meal I started looking around at different items and how much potassium they had. I decided to check on a few items that I knew were extremely high in potassium as a benchmark. Things like potatoes, oranges and bananas. All these items were reported on this app as below normal potassium leading me to believe that this app is very inaccurate if the top potassium foods are reported as below normal. Because this is a matter of life and death for me I don’t recommend this app at all.

Response from developer

For those CKD patients that need to restrict potassium intake, you should have selected CKD (less Potassium) option in your health profile, which the app would have then identified the most helpful and harmful items for you. For example, potatoes ARE listed as harmful for CKD (less potassium) condition. In our app, we do NOT list or identify potassium content of any food! But we do take into account ALL helpful and harmful nutrients relevant to your selected health profile, which in your case, in addition to potassium, includes cholesterol, CoQ10, saturated fat, phosphorous, protein, sodium, refined sugar and vitamin B-6.

Did not download all the way

Was charged for app but only downloaded partway. So could not sign in. Would not recommend took money and no program. Would give zero if I could

Response from developer

Sorry to hear about your experience. For the benefit of others, to best of our knowledge, the app does load properly and extremely quickly because most of the app resides on our servers and not on your device. I wish you had emailed us about your difficulties at the time. This app is our top selling app among 36 apps. It works very well. We hope that you are feeling better.

Avoid this app

Great idea but you’ll have no luck setting up a log in or support, fast charging your Apple account. Only gave it one star so I could rate this app. Otherwise would give no star rating.

Response from developer

Dear Glen, as you know we separately responded to your email on 2-18, and explained how to close your on-screen keyboard, and create your health profile. We were glad to receive your confirmation on 2-20 that you were able to start using the app. If any other issues please email us.

THIS IS A TERRIBLE APP! Do not purchase, waste of money.

1. There is no search feature
2. Their food rating system makes no sense
3. Not enough foods are listed (good or bad) to be helpful
4. You can’t add foods to the data
5. Some foods on the “helpful” list are not recommended by our doctor.

I want a refund. This app is a waste of money.

Response from developer

Dear Dara, we responded to you separately via email. You can search for any food under "Is this good for me" feature. Our expert system takes into account 90+ nutrients and available science to rate 1000+ food items for their helpful or harmfulness -- a longer list than any other app we know of. What food were you looking for? We will be happy to add and rate a new common food if missing fro our list. Please email us with your thoughts. Thank you.

Waste of $

All this does is tell you "eat less" of pretty much everything. No details on amount of protein, salt or micronutrients. No way to track diet. Plenty of free ways to find this information.

Response from developer

For CKD alone (with no other comorbidities) there are 12 nutrients that play a role (some good and some bad). We could provide the nutrient content of every food for those 12 nutrients, but then you would be left with interpreting and sorting out what to do with all that data, a nearly impossible task. Our app is the only source that we are aware of that takes all those details into account to provide you with actionable guidance. For CKD, our software has identified over 600 food items that you need to reduce (or avoid) in your daily diet, and there are nearly 300 items that can be helpful to you. Our app makes no attempt to tell us what we may like to hear.

Ripoff

I just paid for this app, tapped the icon on my phone to open, got a screen saying I need to sign up with user name and password, and it is totally frozen and won’t let me! So apparently I paid for a useless icon.

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback. You need to close your on-screen keyboard before you can click on any button. This is our most popular app, so please try it. Many are finding it very useful, we trust you will too.

Love it!

I think it's fantastic to have help choosing foods when you have more than one medical condition! This is easy to use! I'm looking forward to using it a lot. I had a problem and support was responsive and helpful. I definitely recommend this app!

Not Worth The Money

This app, in my opinion, does nothing more than give you lists of foods that you should or should not eat for a person with (CKD). It does not give you the necessary nutritional facts that allow you to keep track of your potassium, phosphorus, sodium, etc, which the app claimed you could do on it's homepage. Very misleading!!! Why pay for a list of foods that can be easily obtained, for free, on the internet. I wish there was a way to get my money back!!

Response from developer

Thank you for sharing your opinion. Unfortunately it is much more complicated than keeping track of your daily intake of just one or two nutrients. There are 12 nutrients and substances that play a role in CKD, e.g., sodium, trans fats, alcohol, protein, sat fat, mercury, potassium, refined sugar... Our software takes the nutrient contents of each food and their impact on CKD into account to produce the information presented in the app. Depending in the type of CKD and additional illnesses, the list of nutrients may be longer and their impact on your health even more complicated. We do all these calculations and analysis so that you don't have to. And for the record, we do NOT state in our app description that we provide detailed potassium, phosphorous ... content of each food "that allow you to keep track of your potassium ...". We are also unaware of any web site or app that takes into account the science-based data on such a long list of relevant nutrients and substances to produce a sorted list of food items that are helpful or harmful to CKD. If you are aware of such a source please share.

Bad app

This app is terrible... the foods listed are obscure and irrelevant.. you can't find common foods or information about them... thumbs down!

Response from developer

Under Detailed Nutrition Guide,we have attempted to include every common food that we know of. Please check there, if you have not already. What common foods were you looking for that you could not find in our app? We will be happy to add your favorite COMMON foods, if it is missing. Please email us at apps@personalremedies.com. Thank you.
