What's New in ClassBench

1.6.2

September 5, 2026

A major update that fills in a dozen things a homeroom teacher's day kept running into. New — Home modules: choose which modules appear on the Today page and in what order, under Me → Home modules. New — Export center: every export in one place, with a plain list of what each file contains. "Include contacts" and "include photos" are off by default and apply app-wide. New — 1530 safety-education ledger: daily 1-minute, weekly 5-minute and monthly 30-minute entries kept separately, exportable by year as CSV, with reminders. New — Points redemption: set up rewards and their cost, let students redeem. Balances are points earned minus points spent; redemptions never touch the original records. New — Weekly duty rotation: pick the group order and a start date, and who is on duty each week (or day) is worked out for you. New — Student signatures on talk records: have the student sign right in the note; the signature is encrypted and archived with the record and included in PDF exports. New — Conflict ledger: record friction between students, how it was handled and how it ended: kept separate from the discipline ledger; nothing here deducts points. New — Enrichment / borderline / catch-up lists: set a score band per exam and subject and the list is computed live; log follow-ups per student, and unfinished ones stay pinned. New — Parent message templates: pick a template, fill in the variables, copy in one tap. Group-send masking is on by default — surnames only, phone numbers masked — so what you copy is already safe. New — School calendar: holidays, swapped days, exams, activities. For a swapped day, pick the weekday whose timetable applies and the Today page switches to it; the timetable needs no edits. New — Evening study / after-school register: a fixed roster, mark only the few who are away each day, and export a student-per-row, day-per-column sheet at month end. New — Qualifying exams (senior high only): create a sitting, record pass or fail per subject, and the "still owed" list becomes your resit list. New — Import spreadsheets shared from WeChat and other apps: share an Excel file straight to ClassBench and choose whether it goes to the roster, scores, timetable or duty schedule. New — Extend leave: one tap in the leave record. It doesn't open a second leave, so attendance still counts one; paste the parent's message to read the new return date. New — Paste a parent's leave message to fill the form: student, dates and reason are recognized on-device and the original text is kept with the record. New — Read from a photo or screenshot: share a score-sheet screenshot or a photo of a roster to ClassBench and it reads the text and the table, laid out for you to check and edit before anything is imported. Reading happens on the phone; the picture is never uploaded. New — Share in from other apps: a parent's message, a picture or an Excel file, without saving it as a file first. Text and pictures can go straight into a leave record or a work note. Work notes can now be given their own date and time, so something logged a few days late still lands on the right day. Fixed: the app would not open after a fresh install — since 1.6 it stopped on the launch screen with "Could not initialize data". Just update; no need to delete and reinstall. Fixed: after importing a roster, contact name, phone and remark showed as short numbers. Text pasted into the template from another sheet or a chat now reads correctly — in roster, score, timetable and duty imports alike. Fixed: the roll-call page showed "no students in this class" for every class. Fixed: student ordering. Lists across the app now follow student number order (2 before 10) — roll call, homework check and every roster. Photos can be swiped through one after another; the home-screen widget now includes your personal timetable and follows the school calendar; importing a roster again fills in blanks and confirms anything that differs before overwriting it.
