What's New in PrivyMark

1.1

August 20, 2026

Redact by the word. • Trim any detected risk down to individual words. Long-press it on the photo, or tap "Words" in the risk list, then deselect anything that should stay readable. • Detections are tighter. Field labels like "Billed to:" and "Card:" now stay visible, and a cover no longer bleeds onto the words beside it. • Addresses start after the label instead of blacking out the whole line. • New in Settings: if PrivyMark saves you trouble, you can buy me a coffee. Everything in the app stays free — a coffee unlocks nothing. Thanks to the user who wrote in asking for word-by-word control. Keep the feedback coming.

Feature request

Hello. Awesome app. I like how you show what it detected and we can manually toggle it on and off. However, when i toggle one of the items it detected with OCR, instead of just covering that one section, it blocks out the whole line no matter what. Could you add it so that way we can blackout parts of lines? Maybe even on a word by word basis.

Thanks!

Response from developer

Thanks so much for this — really glad the detection list and the manual toggles are working for you. One thing you can do right now: word-level redaction already exists, it's just behind a gesture. Long-press any text in the photo and that line fans out into individual word chips — tap only the words you want covered and leave the rest readable. There's a "cover whole line" button in the same sheet if you do want all of it. That said, you're right about the detected items. When you toggle an OCR result, it applies the box the detector produced, and for some types — addresses especially — that box is the whole line. That's a real gap, and it's being fixed: the next update adds a refine button on each detected item that opens the same word picker, pre-filled with what was detected, so you can trim it down word by word. Detection boxes are being tightened too, so they stop bleeding into neighbouring words. Thanks for taking the time to write this up — it's exactly the kind of feedback that makes the app better.
