I have a few other iOS skymap apps . I am still sad that the Palm app has not been ported, and I even keep a Palm TX running just for when I want to use it. Lately, I have been turning more and more to
the app under discussion. It doesn't quite do everything I want, there's no way to enter custom locations on the celestial sphere, for instance. All the same, this app does, say, 95% of it all. It is the easiest iOS sky app I have tried and gives excellent results. Once I had paid the modest one-off fee (no nasty lockin renewals) and got rid of the irritating constellation illustrations (which, I'm sure, somebody must love) while enabling basic current event data… well, I haven't looked back since. The Palm is still there, but gathering dust. Highly recommended.

Eh

I love the app but some times it doesn’t get the time right like I thought the moon was to the left of me and it was on the opposite side of me

Awful

This app will piss you off more if you’re having a bad day. Literally just shows Uranus…I guess and Jupiter

Sky Map

This has become an indispensable adjunct to my evening sky gazing. The app literally puts the cosmos at your fingertips and is a joy to use. It’s a great educational tool for young astronomers and a very useful and efficient reference for seasoned star gazers.

Bravo to the app developers on this one.

Star Map 2 app

Excellent app! I like how it moves along sky & horizon and displays the names of stars & constellations. Great tool when we’re camping & star gazing.

Just awesome

Captures all stars major and minor. Great for major events like Perseus showers

I hate your app

Gestaltung

Die Gestaltung der Karte ist sehr gut. Die Karte ist für Laien und Fortgeschrittene einfach zu verstehen.

Poor orientation

Never points the right way, so fairly pointless.

Eyes on the sky

Have been using this app for a few years. I’m a Boy Scout, older (70) on the water, outdoors in the dark guy. Learned the sky from the Field Book back in 1968 wearing a red lens filter hip light. Autumn’s night sky is a favorite.

Fantastica

App fantastica per vedere le costellazioni e i pianeti

Star map

It is so good

Really Good

Great

Easiest app ever

This is the easiest app on my phone! You literally just point it in the direction of a planet or star and it’s identified. I love astronomy and I love this app!

How about a little guidance

Just downloaded it, and it’s not at all explanatory. Ugh. Okay, so maybe it’s me… maybe not.

Completo

A única coisa que faltou é achar o corpo celeste mesmo que ele esteja em outro hemisfério, ou seja, focalizar o celular para o chão e ver sua posição atual. De resto, excelente.

Great!

This app is awesome, its easy to use and straightforward and it isnt laiden down with ads- i REALLY appreciate that. I feel comfortable letting my young children use it, its really fun and informative.

Wow!!!

Lots of ground references which help with locating celestial objects.

I miss Google Sky!

Every sky map I’ve tried pales in comparison to Google Sky.
Not sure why it was discontinued.
Nowadays it seems like anything that works well and is of good quality is scrapped and replaced with a lesser quality version.
