App compression issue / unusuable after update
As another person had stated, the app recently does not compress photos anymore. As was my primary usage of the app, I’ve paid over $130 in subscription fees for this app, and it isn’t useable at all. It will not compress a single photo, I am fortunate, if even one, compresses. It crashes, freezes, and will not work. I’ve periodically attempted it, waited, left the app open thinking it could be lagging, restarted my device, have no storage issues using only 20%. This app may have just flunked or disabled the feature to properly work, to save on funds. And I wish that they would just not change it, or reimpliment it. Allow us just to use the app, please… I have waited over two weeks for this to resolve, and decided to change my review after immense disappointment. There is no functionality, and these problems keep reoccurring. I cannot tell if it is a lack of integrity and greed to remove functions from this cleaner app. But I will move on and buy another app, and regret forever paying money for an unusable app, if this keeps occurring. It’s disappointing.

Version 6.5.0 contained a bug that made bulk compression freeze or fail after the first few items, which is exactly what you describe. We found the cause and fixed it in the next update: v6.5.1. If compression still doesn't work for you after the update, please contact us through our Facebook page (https://facebook.com/photocleaner) so we can investigate your case directly. Basically unusable
This was my go-to app for compressing my photos and getting rid of storage. At first I was able to shrink down almost 3gb worth of photos every day. Recently the past few weeks it crashes at just trying to compress 100mb worth of photos. I updated to see if it would fix it and the process just freezes every 5 photos and you have to cancel and then continue to keep going. And that’s if you’re lucky to get it to work like that. I don’t want to babysit the process. I confirmed it’s not because of my storage I have a lot of gb left and I always close every app. I hope they fix this eventually then I might change my rating. Because this is the only free app that doesn’t charge for mass photo compression. The only limit is your patience. It used to be good, now with this update it’s basically unusable for me.

Update has made it worthless to me! (Now improved.)
My primary use of this app was to compress recent photos and videos where I didn’t need the resolution that was captured. As redesigned, the compress screens don’t have any filtering or sorting options which makes finding recent videos and photos close to impossible.
Nov 18, 2024Update: Thanks for adding the sorting by date to the Compress section, but I still need to select from individual folders as well just videos or just photos to compress.
Please consider these and all possible sorting and filtering options.
Dec 2025 Update: They backed out some of the UI changes they made a year ago, and this app is back to very good.
Idea: I would like to see a filter of compressed/uncompressed (so I could compress anything that isn’t already compressed)...or a “select all uncompressed” option.

Regarding your suggestion about filtering uncompressed items: This feature is already available. Please check the Manage Compressed menu in the app. There, you can easily view and manage items based on their compression status. If you have any trouble finding it, please let us know. Ich benutze gerade die App , an sich übersichtlich und suche die Funktion wo ich den Live Part also den Video Part von einem Foto entfernen kann? Ich kann mir alle Lives sortieren und anzeigen lassen. Jetzt geht’s noch drum wie ich das Foto behalte und den Video Teil löschen kann?

Adds wrong pictures
I really wanted to like this app, but I have tried multiple times and it keeps adding the wrong picture to an album. I click on the album I want a picture added to, then when I go to my photos and check the album it added a previous photo that I skipped and didn’t add to any album. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
