Laggy
Response from developer
Hi! Thanks for the thoughtful review. As one of our early users, we really appreciate your patience while we work through these bugs. We’ve seen the app rearranging issue most often on the few devices with beta iOS versions, where Apple’s restoration process can behave inconsistently. We’re getting closer to a fix and continuing to test it. Feedback like this helps us improve, and I’m glad the core value of the app is still coming through.
Terrible App and horrible design
Response from developer
Hi! Emergency access is intentionally always available, but removing CLocked or its permissions while CLocked In is reported to your school. CLocked cannot delete apps or data. The visibility issues we found were concentrated among students trying to bypass restrictions by deleting the app or removing permissions mid-session, which interrupted the normal restoration process. That issue has now been fixed. In short, trying to work around the system is what created most of these problems in the first place, but have now been addressed. Thanks for sharing!

Messed up my phone
Messed with my apps
Response from developer
Hi! I’m sorry you ran into that. CLocked does not have the ability to delete contacts or other data from your phone. We did see some earlier iOS cases where apps or contacts were temporarily hidden or rearranged when restrictions lifted, which can make it look like they were deleted. That issue has since been addressed. If anything is still missing, please reach out directly so we can help restore visibility.
This is Stupid
Response from developer
Hi! Thanks for sharing this. CLocked does not check your personal data. The notification to administrators only shows whether your CLocked restrictions are active or have been turned off, not what you’re doing on your phone. CLocked also cannot delete apps or power off your device. Apple simply does not give any developer that level of access. We did see some earlier cases where apps were temporarily hidden or rearranged when restrictions changed, which can make it look like something was deleted, and we’ve since addressed that issue. We take the privacy concern seriously, but I also want to be clear about what the app can and cannot actually do so that everyone has accurate information. Worst app
app is bad
Response from developer
Hi! If your apps didn’t return immediately after CLocking Out, that’s not how it’s supposed to work. Some early users experienced this issue, and we’ve since pushed fixes to address it. Please make sure you’re on the latest version of CLocked, and if it happens again, reach out to us directly so we can get it fixed. Thanks for sharing!
App is Tracking You
Response from developer
CLocked does not track your location. The timing of restrictions is based on your school’s schedule and policy, including whether phones stay restricted during lunch or breaks. Apps are restricted by default while you’re CLocked In, but if you need access to something specific for a medical or learning accommodation, your school can approve that app for you. CLocked also does not delete your messages or photos.
Worst app oat
Response from developer
Hi! CLocked is under 10 MB to download as of August 20. For context, TikTok is about 986 MB. We also don’t install extra software on your phone, so CLocked itself should not be slowing your device down. On privacy, we follow the student data privacy requirements set by schools and districts, and we delete student data at the end of each school year rather than keeping it indefinitely. As for parent consent, that depends on the school’s policy and the laws that apply to that district. CLocked doesn’t decide that policy, the school does.
GET THIS OFF THE APP STORE!!
Response from developer
Hi! CLocked cannot install a virus or access your messages, photos, passwords, location, or other private content. I also understand the concern around being asked to install something on a personal phone. That requirement comes from your school’s phone policy, not CLocked, and families should be clearly informed about what the app does, what it can access, and what alternatives the school provides. Don’t download
Buns app
Response from developer
Hi! I’m sorry this made your day harder. Music can absolutely be something students rely on to focus or manage stress. If you need Spotify or another music app as part of a learning, medical, or accessibility accommodation, your administrator can approve that app for you while you’re CLocked In.
Bruh
Response from developer
Hi! Schools definitely care about vaping too, which is why it’s already prohibited on most campuses. Phones are just a different problem because almost every student has one, and they can become a constant classroom distraction if there isn’t a clear policy around them. Totally fair question, though, and happy to chat more about it.
Terrible
Response from developer
Hi! You’re absolutely right that your phone should not have remained CLocked In after school. As one of our early users, you ran into an issue we caught early and have since fixed. If something like this ever happens again, every student has EMERGENCY ACCESS available directly from their phone settings so they can restore access themselves. That feature exists specifically for situations like this, and was shared by the schools on how to get access when necessary. This issue is now resolved and has not happened since. Thank you for sharing!

HORRIBLE APP!! DOES NOT WORK.
Response from developer
Hi! Your concerns are valid and worth addressing. CLocked intentionally restricts distracting apps during the school day, so yes, your home screen may look different while restrictions are active. If you’re running into specific issues beyond that, please reach out to admin@clockedmobile.com. Most of the problems reported in earlier versions have now been resolved. Thanks for sharing your feedback.
Take off App Store
Response from developer
Thanks for flagging this. CLocked can’t install a virus or any software that isn’t already on your phone. If your apps stayed restricted longer than expected, I understand the concern, and that issue has now been fixed.
Privacy
It says that it won’t watch you and yet will notify your teachers when you’re doing something out of line?
The clocked app is ridiculous and schools shouldn’t need it, a better solution would be pouches at the front of the classroom, students keeping them away, like in their backpacks. If students have a phone they should be mature enough to know when to use it.
I respect the clocked app for what it’s TRYING to do, it sees a problem and I see it too, but this isn’t the solution. It’s an invasion of privacy and most likely breaks a few laws (I will research more on it later). At the very least I think that the school should get parents and guardians consent before making their students download an app that tampers with their phone. Most of them are minors after all.
Response from developer
Thanks for actually sharing your concerns. Just to be super clear, CLocked CANNOT see your messages, photos, location, browsing history, passwords, or what you’re doing inside apps. Your teacher only gets notified if CLocked gets turned off or the restrictions are messed with. I totally get why you might prefer pouches or just keeping phones in backpacks. We built CLocked because those still usually leave teachers having to police phones all day. The idea here is that you keep your phone, keep what's important, and still get accommodations if you need them. All things a pouch cannot offer. And if you find a specific privacy or legal issue, seriously send it our way. I’d be happy to answer it directly.
This app is unfunctional and does not work
Response from developer
Thanks for sharing this feedback. I understand the concern, but this isn’t accurate. CLocked is under 10 MB to download and doesn’t install additional background software that isn't already on your device. For comparison, TikTok is 986.2MB.
