I don’t think the bar is that high.

It accepted me saying I was one if the top 10% but it didn’t actually ask me anything? I am intelligent as an individual, but you wouldn’t know that from the questions they ask.

Completely Flawed

I will preface that I was "approved," so I’m not just bitter. I downloaded this app because I thought maybe there'd be some kind of fun IQ test I could try to "win," but evidently "intelligence" is simply determined by whether you went to a highly ranked school. No quiz at all! There were only like 8 options for professions and none of them was remotely related to what I do (design), nothing remotely creative at all. There was also a category where you choose hobbies and you were just supposed to select a standardized test. I suppose you're just supposed to select the one that you have taken, but I don't think you were able to choose more than one and I'm not sure why a standardized test would be considered a hobby. There wasn't a way to indicate your score or anything so I guess you're just showing off the fact that you've taken the LSAT or something? The ad I saw said it filtered only "smart people." Inherently that's already problematic, but I signed up out of curiosity and to see if I'd make the cut. The description once you're inside the app "meet ambitious people," is much more accurate, because clearly this is catered to corporate yuppies and finance bros. I suppose the notion of choosing an app that "filters only smart people" should already be an indicator that it will be full of obnoxious yuppies, but warning if you are at all interesting or creative or intellectual, or believe intelligent people could have gone to city college(!), this probably isn't the app for you... also you are not able to proceed with creating a profile unless you sync all of your contacts...

Paid membership

Be more transparent about the fact that it’s a paid membership. You sign up and invite friends then get hit with the purchase. Sure it could be worth it but I didn’t appreciate not being up front.

Response from developer

Thank you so much for your feedback. To clarify, it is $100 a year only for gold access membership, you can opt out and access the app with some limits and that is completely free. Please feel free to email us at hello@clockoutapp.com if you want to chat directly, thanks again.

Can’t access

Was looking forward to try gaining access, but currently living and working in Tokyo with no available US, nor UK phone number to use for the app. Maybe someday.

Clockout review

I absolutely love the Clockout app. It is super cool and innovative. I’d like how there are meet ups in your city with like-minded individuals. Doesn’t feel as intimidated as other networking apps.

new to the area

I moved to a new city recently and Clockout turned out to be exactly what I needed to build a social and professional circle from scratch!!

What stood out most was how easy it made meeting like-minded people in my area— I've already made connections I don't think I'd have found anywhere else.

The interface is clean and simple to navigate, and the whole experience feels curated and genuine in a way most social apps aren't. If you're new to a place or just want to grow your local network, I'd highly recommend it

Pressured to promote an app without a preview

I recently applied to use Clockout and was granted approval within a day of applying. The app was not forthcoming about approval and successful access to the app requiring you to promote use of the app to four contacts in order to use the app. Assuming some good faith, I sent the link to four contacts and was then presented with a screen saying I could access a 7 day trial with the expectation to pay the yearly fee after. This screen did not indicate that this commitment needed to be made within 24 hours. I received a text stating that my spot could only be held for a day “due to the long waitlist” but in reality it has just reset to me needing to send promotion of the app to yet four more other people still not having seen how the app functions directly. There should be some discretion over when the trial period access takes place and it’s in bad faith to expect people to repeatedly promote an app to contacts directly based on hearsay and not direct experience.

$100/ year membership fee

They should be more upfront about membership fees like at the start of downloading the app. I felt like I got in and at the end and it’s like a $100 trap. You guys need to be transparent. What’s the point of paying for a network …

New grad + dead club

most of the clubs in Torornto are dead. There is only couple of options. you may find lots of recently graduated students with fancy titles . It blaire out the new connection and if you want to know who sent u request , it asked u to get the pay version.
i gave it a fair shot of using it for 1 month. I get disappointed. i suggest them to get back to their mission to have exclusive app for professional. There is REAL gap in market for such a platform. just do it right please

Amazing space! Happy to be here

click 2 pointless

smh.

id like the time back from the waste i just endured completing the KYC

trying too hard + no partial refunds

it’s a not great combination of LinkedIn and a dating app. It’s too easy to lie about qualifications so the air of exclusivity is limited and too many job titles are inflated anyways. It’s trying too hard to keep you on the app but the UX is not intuitive and it’s feels like it’s trying to force connections. also, reputable companies issue partial refunds for annual subscriptions.

Software Engineer, ML/AI

There is no software development sub category in tech? Lol, that’s literally the field.

Unable to even use the app.

While the idea seems promising and something that would be beneficial to many in the tech space i have been unable to use the app. For the past 2 days the app seems to keep resetting itself and forcing me to onboard over again. Each time it continually ask me to set up my inner circle and join a group as if i didn’t. A very poor app experience especially when your concierge texts me to tell me my onboarding is complete.

Disappointing App Experience l, Cancellation and Refund Issues

This app has been extremely disappointing. Not only is it not useful, but there is also no easy way to cancel the subscription. I’ve tried contacting support by email and through their website and have received no response.

To make matters worse, I was charged $99 for a product that provided no value, and I’m still trying to get a refund.

So far so good!

Found great groups for networking in Atlanta so far. Enjoying my time!

Great Human Connection Tool!

I have been on ClockOut for just over nine months now and have had a fantastic experience connecting *in person* with so many new people both in and outside my industry! Other platforms are fine for growing a virtual network of thousands of people that you've maybe met once at a conference or never in person at all, but I much prefer the ClockOut approach to meeting and connecting with other local professionals in my home and work communities. Highly recommend checking it out and participating in an upcoming local group event to get the full benefit!

Sip & Yap + Vibes

Tried this app, and I was able to not only find 3 meetups that led to over 10+ friendships, 3 new business partners, and actually 12 different fun memories from attending their events. Plus it helped me launch my own events too! :D

Love this app

Great app! Love using it!
