ClockShark Time Tracking User Reviews

Top reviews

Overlapping

When I switch jobs in bad service areas I’ve had several times where it will overlap my jobs. Ie. I work a 10 hours day but the app says I have more hours than that because I was clock into more than one job at a time.

Lacking Support/ missing key features

Have talked to support multiple times, all they have to say is “we’ve been hearing that from a few customers” and “unfortunately the app can’t do that”
Would be nice to be able to limit what time people can clock in at and make the geo fences restrict clocking in outside of the set limit instead of just sending me hundreds of emails.
Lots of room for improvement, difficult to navigate compared to other apps from a supervisor standpoint. Pretty user friendly from employees though

Doesn’t work

App opens but doesn’t load. Freezes.

Response from developer

Update: The Timesheets time zone setting is based on the Company time zone setting, and not the local device time zone. We'll add this option as a feature request! --- Hello, thank you for the feedback! I'll have our team look into this. We appreciate hearing from you and will make improvements wherever we can!

Not working

Been using for a month and the app updated and now won’t work please fix

App doesn’t open after new update

App is not opening after the new update

Great app

Great app, but why are there two apps? What’s one better for than the other one?

Hate this app

Worst clock in app out there

Response from developer

Hi Trevor, sorry you feel that way. We hope our next clock in update improves your experience. Good luck at work this week!

Much improved

I’ve been using ClockShark for my business for a few years. The old app worked okay, but it was pretty slow and had some bugs. This new version is much better. It runs faster and doesn’t crash. My crew finds it easy to clock in and out, which saves us time and keeps things simple.

Buggier than the original

App constantly fails to load right and has problems switching between jobs and breaks. The original worked better and looked better.

Response from developer

Hello, thank you for your feedback! We were working through some performance challenges and recently made significant updates. We hope you'll update to get the better experience! We appreciate your input and we're continuing to release new features and make improvements.

Worse than older app

Timesheets showing incorrect time zone.

Good Direction

- need to be able to edit and add schedules/timesheets/ notes
by job or employee
(a lot of foreman's who do schedules in construction don't always have a laptop with Internet. Depend heavily on being able to use a phone or iPad to change employee schedules)

* set default cal view setting (day, week, etc)

Seems now to have been addressed by holding memory when switching between schedule, timesheet, home and work. But, another small consideration for improvement. It also remembers what employee is selected. So if you have John selected in schedule and then switch back-and-forth to Timesheet view which might have Susie. Might be nice to change that when one person is selected it stays for each view.

* iphone 16 pro screen stutter swiping between days/weeks in schedule view

Looks better. But still very shaky scrolling job selection inside of clock in.

- in time sheet view the top locked page is half of screen real estate.

* schedule view , month expander box's bottom drawbar a little unintuitive in its animation and feels clumsy.

New layout feels a lot better

- add day names to numbers in calendar. Mo Tu We Th Fr etc

* shadow animations in work view selections a bit twitchy.

Better now, but scrolling still a little rough on these pages

- light or dark theme would be nice

Hi, thanks for the great review and feedback! We're actively working on some of these features, so I'll provide more information: - We'll be releasing the ability to Add/Edit Schedules in our next release (this week), so make sure you update!! - You can already Edit Shift Details from the Timesheets area, which then saves back to the total Timesheet. Tap on a Shift and in the upper right corner tap Edit. - Love your ideas to keep the Schedule View setting and the user selection across app features, I'll add these to our feature idea portal! - We're actively improving the clock in screens and workflow, so in the coming months you should get an update that has better performance. - The Timesheet view assessment is a great one, I'll connect with our design team to see if we can improve it. - You can also tap on the month again to close the month view, and I'll take note for our design team. - There should be 2 letter day names at the top of the month view in the Schedule (Su, Mo, etc). They are light gray, so we'll consider making them easier to see! - We definitely have a lot of interface and design refinements to build in, so we'll keep improving! We really appreciate your detailed review, and we hope you'll stay up to date with our future updates! There is a lot we still want to do, and we're listening to your feedback! Have a great work day :)

Prefer old app

This app requires way too many "confirmation" / steps for clocking in, going on break, and even clocking out. As the administrator for our company I have received endless complaints about this version compared to the last - in addition to having to revise twice as many timesheets due to error.

The app itself functions well on a reporting level, I just wish it was more user friendly to help reduce human error.

A few suggestions:
- copy over notes from schedule to timesheet when clocking in
- be able to add to the schedule in the app not just on the desktop website
- less "confirmation" steps when clocking in and out / more customization freedom

Major issues

Well this app was convenient. How do you build out a new “more convenient” app when the new app fights you when you try to clock in /out. And BRING BACK break notifications. I been late several times bcuz im so used to the app telling me my break/lunch is up.

Response from developer

Hello, thanks for your feedback! We're continuing to build out features and have recently got a lot of requests for notifications, so that's next! We'll be starting work on notifications in April. With this app, we can make more releases and build more features for customers, which we can't currently do with the previous app. We're listening to customers and prioritizing the most requested features. Thank you for your patience as we continue to deliver features that assist with your work day!

Love It

Such a good time tracking app, I am able to pay my employees fairly

Best time tracking app available!

Really easy to use and amazing customer service!

Honestly Not Good

Like another reviewer said, this app has different bugs and issues than the last app. This app also has less features than the last app, and you have less control, settings, options. The schedule viewer is terrible. You have to tap through each day of the week to see if you work that day or not. I understand they're still working on adding new features and content, but why release this when your old app is honestly better. You should be releasing the finished product. The location tracking is still buggy too. Do better!

Response from developer

Hi, thank you for your feedback! We are actively building and releasing new features on a monthly basis, so we hope you'll continue to update to check them out. Recently, we released the ability to view your Schedule by day, 3 days, or the entire week: On the Schedule, tap the 3 dots next to the calendar icon to change your view! If you don't see these options, please update your app from the App Store. We released this app to gain feedback from customers like you, so that we can continue to build the app in a direction that makes sense for users. In the coming months, we'll be adding more Notifications and Settings features. Our previous app exists on a technology that we can no longer update, and we want to ensure we can deliver more to our customers in our continuous effort to do better. We're actively researching GPS Tracking issues reported by other users. Thank you, we hope to hear from you again as your feedback and contributions enable us to understand where we can improve and where we're doing well!

Weird Notifications

We’ve been using ClockShark since 2017. It can be buggy, but it works far better for us than other time tracking apps.

This new version, I get alerted to a notification, but when I click on it there’s nothing. I’ve tried going through all the tabs, but the notification indicator on my phone (red circle with white number) never goes away. It notifies me multiple times a day, but I have no idea why.

Response from developer

Hi, thanks for your feedback! That is definitely not intended behavior and sounds like a bug/defect. I've catalogued this issue and will be presenting it to our engineering team this week. For now, it may resolve if you check your device Settings > Notifications > ClockShark and toggle off Badges. We appreciate your input and patience as we work to resolve this!

Newer version, newer issues

I’ve had to use clock shark for the last 5 years for a project and I’ve been looking forward to the day I never have to use it again. My biggest gripe is that it is an absolutely inefficient app to enter data in. A process of entering a timesheet should be be as simple as a three tap process: open app, copy previous, submit. Every single day I have to open this miserable app and select the same project (two taps) the same job code (scroll though codes then tap), the date (scroll and tap) the time (scroll and tap) and save. Maybe it’s convenient for people that work different shifts, different projects and roles, but when I work the same shift, project and role day in and day out, I shouldn’t have to tap over and over and over just to submit a timesheet. Work on the efficiency. This app is obnoxious.

Response from developer

Hello, thanks for your feedback! I've taken a note to research how much effort a Duplicate Timesheet feature would be for the Engineering team. Our new app enables us to provide users more frequent updates, and we can more easily build feature requests. I'm sorry your workflow is so inefficient, we're actively working on ways to improve app workflows. We recently improved the efficiency of the Clock In workflow with the additions of Recent Jobs, Recent Tasks, and the ability to Search Job and Task codes. Your workflow revolves around Timesheets, and I'm sure it's a challenge many people face! If we can add in a feature to duplicate timesheets, I'll do my best to come back here and share updates. Thank you for your feedback, we hope to improve your experience this year!
