Pretty great guys running the show

Does the job, improvements needed

My coworkers and I have been using the CoachMePlus app for years to write workouts for athletes. Although the app does work for what we intend to use it for, we have experienced several inconveniences.

The app always seems to be slow and buggy regardless of whether the athletes are using wifi or cellular data. We have also had problems with the software itself, the start date for our programs (oftentimes for large groups of athletes) never seems to match up with when we actually want the athletes to start. There also seem to be glitches which modify the workouts we write without us actually changing them.

Overall, the app is coach- and user-friendly, but work is needed to improve the functionality. I also must add that the customer service has been good whenever we need it.

It’s A Nuisance

My college volleyball team switched from using TeamBuildr to using CoachMePlus and every day since I’ve wished we could switch back. I hold my breath every time I open the app hoping that I can get in and see my workouts, but on multiple occasions the app has crashed which doesn’t allow me to log in. Same thing happens for all of my teammates and we have to contact our strength coaches directly for our workout. Then we can’t record the weight we lift either since the app is broken. Defeats the whole purpose of even having CoachMePlus. When the app does work, it’s not super user friendly. A loading screen pops up extremely frequently when navigating the app, giving it a clunky feel. It can be difficult to maneuver due to the way the app is set up which forces me to spend a lot of time on my phone while working out just to find a basic piece of information. It’s not very visually appealing either. Anyways, every day I use this app it’s a gamble and not in a fun way.

Unusable

The worst app on my phone; the one I have to use every day. Displays a loading bar after every single interaction, e.g. switching from my workout to an individual set. Logs you out randomly. Bugs all over the front end. I actually manually copy all the workouts into Strong so I don’t have to deal with this thing at the gym.

Great blend of tracking

I've been using the app to track my workouts and my nutrition at the same time as I've been using my Apple Watch. This is a great blend of tracking, all of which goes to my coach. My coach has been personalizing my workout for me, which is helping me reach my fitness goals. This app isn't really made like a general fitness app - it's really for a coach and athlete to work together. Excellent.

Great app!

Love the pre-loaded wellness questionnaire as well as the athlete dashboard

Great app!

Really improved my productivity as a trainer and allows me to focus on building relationships with my clients. So easy to use and the customer service is great!

Nice software but horrible

Every time I open this application it tends to take me to an adult site which then asks for my age to view the content. DEFINITELY do not recommend this app

Pretty good but buggy

It’s pretty good. When you’re in the gym it’s really annoying to have the login randomly boot you out and have to resort to a browser window. Also not clear between when you are on screen to log a warm up set or a working set, you just kind of have to know. The nutrition logger is cool because you can barcode scan if you can’t find it, but it doesn’t give you a real breakdown beyond macros so if you’re looking at fiber totals or something similar you’re out of luck. I use another app to track macros. I like the video feature and timer, but wish the dashboard in the app showed progress charts by lift in addition to just volume and tonnage.

Nice app with a broken login

The app itself is generally well-designed. However, it opens a window for signing in to the domain which cannot be closed without taking me back to the domain sign-in screen. So, all workouts are displayed in an in-app Safari window. I tried redownloading to no avail, and have since resigned myself to using a browser instead.

Cool App

I’ve used several strength programming apps and this one is by far the best for my program. Combo of the program builder and dashboards allows me to provide the focused attention each athlete needs.

Way more complicated than necessary

I wasted too many hours on what should have been simple tasks. I would’ve moved on sooner but I spent $35 on this. I finally found an app that is very user friendly and free

Great App!

This app saves me so much programming time

Good, but needs work

It's a awesome app, love it, except one thing

The reason being when you press complete all, for some reason, next time you log in, it will say you missed the workout. Not sure why, but it gets a little annoying when it looks like you have missed a workout and have to press complete all again at a later date
