Cool

This is so much fun. You can really be surprised give it a shot.

Highly inaccurate

Scanned some coins and it’s really inaccurate. First off, scanned a one ounce silver coin and it said it was worth $33. This is back when silver spot price was about $90. Also, it can’t tell you the composition of most coins which makes it pretty useless. I was trying to scan some foreign coins I had to see if any were silver. It would name a pricing range but not composition. I had to manually look up any coins I thought might be silver. Most of the values are wildly off. Found some that it claimed were worth $50+ only to see them sell for $5 on eBay. On the other hand, it wayyyyy undervalued anything silver.

Response from developer

Thank you for the honest feedback. You're right—our silver valuations and metal composition detection need serious improvement. Pricing errors like the ones you found (silver undervalued, common coins overvalued) are unacceptable. We're actively working on updating our recognition. If you're willing to share specific examples, please email us at connect@aurorithm.com. We appreciate your help making the app better.

Really good app to look at all coins knocking around the house and charity shops

As I said in the title really really good app and if you don’t want it, you could just have it for seven days

Do Not Try!!

I got the 7 day trial and immediately cancelled as I wasn’t sure I wanted it. They tried to renew it for $39.99 anyways, even though it clearly says cancelled. Apple says I have to pay it then request a refund in order to access anything in my Apple account. I am no longer a customer of Apple or this App! Do Not Get!!! I will not be “bullied” into paying for an app I did not request! Also, I scanned a rare collectors coin into this app and it popped up some random year quarter not worth anything. This app is worthless!

Response from developer

We sincerely apologize for your experience. You're right—if you canceled during the trial, you should not have been charged. Apple handles all billing, so we recommend requesting a refund directly through them. If Apple is unhelpful, please email us at connect@aurorithm.com with your Apple ID and we'll do our best to assist. We also appreciate your feedback on the scan accuracy. We're actively improving our recognition system, and reports like yours help us get better. We're sorry to see you go, but we hear your concerns and are committed to fixing these issues.

Inaccurate

Scanned the same coin 5 times. Got anything from $3394-$5431 to $1.36-$4.07

Response from developer

We sincerely apologize for the inconsistent scan results you experienced. That's definitely not the accuracy we aim for, and we completely understand your frustration. This level of variation isn't acceptable, and we're actively working on improvements to our scanning and valuation algorithms to provide more consistent and reliable results. In the meantime, here are a few tips that may help improve accuracy: - Ensure good, even lighting without harsh glare - Place the coin on a plain, non-reflective background - Hold the camera steady and directly above the coin If you're willing to share images of the coin you scanned at connect@aurorithm.com, our team would greatly appreciate it—this kind of feedback helps us identify issues and improve faster. Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we hope you'll give us another chance after we've made these improvements.

Not scanning

Just downloaded and every scan said either too blury or move scan closer or further away.

Response from developer

We sincerely apologize for the trouble you had with scanning right after downloading. That’s not the experience you should expect, and we’re currently working on improving scan accuracy and clarity in an upcoming update. In the meantime, a few tips that usually help: • Place the coin on a plain, contrasting background • Avoid glare and use natural lighting when possible • Hold the camera steady and directly above the coin If you're willing to share an example photo at connect@aurorithm.com, it would really help us improve faster.

Surprisingly useful for coin collectors

I downloaded Coin Value mostly out of curiosity, but it turned out to be really handy. The coin identification works pretty well just by taking a photo, and the value estimates give a good ballpark for what a coin might be worth. It’s especially nice for sorting through old coins without having to Google each one.

The layout is simple and easy to understand, even if you’re not a serious collector.
Only thing I’d like to see improved is a bit more detail on how prices are calculated, especially for coins in different conditions.

Overall, solid app if you collect coins or just want to know whether something is worth keeping.

Great

I absolutely love this coin collecting tool! The identification and authentication are super professional, and there are plenty of expert educational articles for guidance. It’s incredibly handy for sorting through my large coin collection at home.

Awesome

Downloaded CoinValue and I’ve been hooked scanning my coins for hours—this app is so accurate and lightning fast! Obsessed with the super detailed info it gives on every single coin, all the key details you need right at your fingertips. This is the kind of app I’m all about, hands down. Tried a few other coin apps before, and they were straight up wrong—one even said my vintage US quarter was a random Asian coin, way off the mark. Thank you for making such an awesome app! It’s a total lifesaver for my collection, and exactly what I’ve been needing for years now.

A must-have app for me

I’ve tried several coin identification apps before,-and Coinvalue is by far the most accurate and practical one I’ve used.
The photo recognition works surprisingly well. The interface is clean, fast and beginner friendly.

7 day free trial

I cancelled my trial on day 6 via email and on the app but on day 7 my card was charged $42.39 and I have sent multiple emails with no response.

Is this for real?

I tried this so and didn’t like it. There is no way to cancel your subscription in the app. There is no Contact Us link. When I try to go to the support page it says it can’t be found. I’m disputing all charges with my financial institution. Unless you want a headache, do not get this app.

Response from developer

We hear your frustration and sincerely apologize for the poor experience. You're correct that, due to Apple's policies, subscriptions cannot be canceled within the app itself—this must be done through your app store account. We should have made this clearer, and we’re sorry for the confusion. To resolve this now: Cancel & refund directly (fastest way): Visit Apple’s official support page,Sign in, find the CoinValue charge, and follow the steps. Apple typically processes these quickly. Contact us directly: You can reach our support team at connect@aurorithm.com. We’ll assist you personally. We’re updating our app to provide clearer guidance and have fixed the broken support link. Thank you for your feedback—it. It helps us improve.

Free trial is a scam

I signed up for the “Free” trial and it immediately charged me. I canceled the free trial the next day and still no refund.

Response from developer

We’re truly sorry for the trouble this has caused. Since subscriptions and refunds are managed through Apple, we recommend reaching out to their support team for the fastest resolution. They’ll be able to review and process your refund request directly. If you need any confirmation from our side about your cancellation, please let us know—we’re happy to help. Thank you for your understanding.

Doesn’t work

Tried two coins and did give accurate identification on either

Response from developer

Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and we're genuinely sorry that the app failed to identify your coins. We strive for 100% accuracy, so we appreciate you letting us know when we fall short. Coin identification can sometimes be tricky with certain conditions. Could it be due to: Lighting: Was there a shadow or a strong reflection on the coin? Wear and Tear: Older or heavily circulated coins can have faded details. Focus: Was the coin held steady and the image clear? For the best results, please try again in bright, indirect light with the coin on a solid, contrasting background. We'd love to help you personally and improve our AI. If you could email us at connect@aurorithm.com with photos of the two coins you tried, our team will personally look into this and help identify them for you. We're constantly working to improve, and your feedback is invaluable. We hope to give you a much better experience in the future. Best regards, The CoinValue Team
