Awesome for Learning lines

Despite it being expensive it is the best app for memorizing lines. It is so helpful when you’re on a tight schedule! Love it so much. Def worth the money.

Excellent, but…

I use this app a lot, it is super helpful. But, I would like to see the transcription improved. I have to do a TON of editing to make sure the lines are exactly right. With today’s AI capabilities, I would think that the transcription could be better. Thanks.

Did not work

Can’t import scenes or purchase membership. This is the most frustrating and useless use of my time

Lots of bugs

This app is helpful, esp when in a pinch. But often — I’d say at least once a month, when I get on here to run lines, it immediately fails and aborts, stating “voice recognition error” … but the error message comes up before I’ve had a chance to say anything.
Also if you add a pause somewhere, and then close the app for any reason - maybe you were running lines then come back later to tape it - check where that pause is. More often than not, it’s moved.

Should be better for the price

Just finished taping today and editing it now. This is for a network level lead. The stress using this app is seriously not worth it. I’ve just watched amazing takes all ruined because the app didn’t “hear” the cue line and therefore that take is ruined. No rhyme or reason when this happens. This happens every single time I use it. It ruins those takes and then has a knock on negative effect to your psychology on the next take. I have literally deleted 22 takes — all because the app made them useless. I had 2 takes to use, which are fine and I’m happy with, but I would have liked to have offered some more variations.

If you are going to charge us 100% of the cost; the product should work 100% of the time. It doesn’t.

App issues

It’s really annoying that the app doesn’t recognize when I’m saying the line and I’ll have to see it multiple times for it to recognize that in speaking to it and for it to pick up my words to the point to where sometimes I need to shout for it to hear me. I don’t think this is the microphone issue because I can talk at a normal pace and my speech to text works my phone calls work my videos pick up audio. I hope this gets figured out because besides that the app is great.

cues

And it’s absolutely gotten better over these past few months, better vocal cue pickup always. Thank you for the tool my friends. Better and better every day and incredibly useful.

Sound cuts out

In theory, this is such a great idea, but unfortunately, the video are sub quality and the sound cuts out.

Several bugs and inaccessible UI

Fantastic concept but gets lost in the several bugs. Sometimes the app doesn't hear your sound cue properly during filming or just stops altogether during rehearsal. It's incredible overpriced to have these sorts of issues. The UI isn't the most accessible either, very cluttered and lowkey ugly too.

Poor Quailty

Unlike other line reading apps, there’s limited options to make changes in “Reader” voices. Regardless of settings, Reader’s voices on playback are always metallic sounding. And worst of all, saving a completed video is hit-or-miss. There have been numerous times where the app would not process the video when trying to save it to the phone. I’ve ended up wasting a lot of time losing many good self tapes because the app functioned poorly. For the above reasons, I’m not renewing the subscription.

Great app

Fantastic
app ! A game changer for actors. Love it

Over all good

Over all it’s pretty good. The recording of the lines and being able to fix the text is great. The options used for the replaying of the lines are also good.
The ONLY problem is, if you have a lot of lines and you want to just import them instead of manually recording them. The app doesn’t accept PDF files it seems like. Which is what all the scripts & sides that casting send are in…so kind of useless feature.

It gets the job done

Really liked the app so far super helpful but occasionally the mic doesnt pick up on recording for the “myself” feature the way it should. I have to exit the app and open it back up again, It’s still a pretty solid app and I use the app a lot I definitely recommend

The cue sucks

The cue word is ridiculous. Having to overly exaggerate pronouncing it will lead you to doing many failed takes. Or the fact how it glitches even after it hears the cue before it shows you the next line of dialogue. It needs an update to fix these issues

I really like this app. The only downside is the silences that I add to the text keep slipping out of plan, which can mess things up whilst taping.

great for acting class!

been using it for like 2 years now and its been a faster way to learn my lines!

Nothing to help

Have extensive questions and went through the two quick start and tutorial which indicates certain features available but not a step by step of how to do them. A chat bubble just came up saying it didn’t recognize the language and my finger slipped to Spanish. I will never get this! Where is the back button? Where is even the chat bubble I just interacted with? What a mess!

Doesn’t pick up on my cues

Doesn’t register my cue line, I have to manually constantly, which takes me out of the scene

Abandoned

I’ve been using this for at least 5 years, but it seems like it has been abandoned. The last update was three years ago. I’ll be cancelling my subscription and finding a new line learner app. Scriptmate: Line Learner seems promising.
