Cool update

The app updated, and Im now happy. However, I don’t see where the dark versions of the sky lander donkey Kong and bowser are. That’s all right , but a cool addition would be the power up bands , as those work as amiibo

Ripped Away Paid for Features

I previously purchased this app to remove ads, and after YEARS of not updating the list of available amiibo, it ripped away all my paid features to then tried to resell them as a paid monthly subscription. Absolutely unacceptable and anti consumer. Do not support this.

The app is back on track

Glad to see the developers listen to the criticism and go back to using the old model of either using a pro account or just deal with ads, instead of forcing everyone to go pro. Hopefully the app sticks around for a good while, I really do like how the app now looks

Response from developer

It was either this or shut down the app completely. Enough users have asked us to go this route to make it worthwhile. Sorry to see you go, however I’m confident in this new model and the app that this will become.

Someone listened

I’m glad that instead of lashing out you listened to criticism.

Lifetime purchase

Love the new format and I’m totally ok with paying for an app that provides value to me but a subscription service is where I draw the line.

Response from developer

I appreciate the feedback. Question though… Who pays the independent developer to maintain, update features, server fees, etc?

Nice update

Really like the new layout of everything, any chance you’d add a lifetime purchase option? Also the dark variants of the skylander amiibo are missing, hoping you could get those added in. Would you also consider adding the Power-Up bands? They all scan as amiibo, also the cereal box?

Mostly unnecessary changes just to justify monetization

The app previously held your collection locally just fine. The complete overhaul resulted in the complete loss of previous collections (frustrating but whatever). It’s not like there’s a record breaking amount of amiibo being released (although I am happy we are still getting them) so adding to the app periodically shouldn’t have been much work but now we have to pay for a glorified excel sheet that’s missing multiple amiibo/cards that I’m pretty sure the old app had. So pay money for a library less complete than the old unupdated app. Deleting the app.

Unfortunately with the change in development language it wasn’t possible for retain the collection data. The previous app was very painful to update… especially if it was adding a new category. It wasn’t worth hours and hours of development to keep it updated, which is why updating pretty much stopped. This app is much easier to maintain and build new features that users ask for. Sorry to see you go, however it was this or shut down the app completely.

Ruined a great app for a quick buck

Don’t bother using this when amiivault not only does what it does better, but it also does more, and is free. Sad to see this app end up like this

Amazing New Update

This app is amazing. I understand the subscription and I’m glad it’s only $1… it costs money to develop, host, etc. awesome app though. I love it.

Response from developer

Thank you! Glad you are enjoying the new app!

Deleted data

The new UI is great but as someone else said, can only have 10 marked, lost all previous data and now you have to pay for it

Response from developer

Unfortunately due to legacy tech stack.. it wasn’t possible to retain collection data. We had to start over. I understand it’s frustrating, however the trade off for having a system that’s much easier to update and add features to is worth it. In terms of payment. It’s only $1 a month or $7 per year The reality is that I would rather have 100 users, which covers the costs of server, domain, development than have thousands of free users that I’m losing money and funding out of pocket. It was either this or shut the app down entirely.

Finally updated and it wiped out everything

After a few years there's finally an update to the app. However, it has two fatal flaws. First, it completely wiped out my existing collection. Second, the free ad supported model is gone, and replaced with an annual subscription, otherwise you're severely limited to 10 items. An annual subscription for a collection tracker? Nope. Fortunately, there are other alternatives available that actually have been kept up-to-date.

Hello, Totally understand your frustration. It wasn’t possible to maintain users previous collection due to technology changes. With the new app, it’s far easier to keep updated and add new features… so the previous issue of minimal updates is solved. However the cost for the server, hosting, etc means a small $0.99 monthly fee or $10 per year. I totally understand if you don’t want to support. However there are supporters and I need to focus on them to expand more features and make this a truly great app for Amiibo collectors. It was either go down this path or kill the app entirely.

New Update! Oh…no…

Was excited to see the first new update in forever until I saw that it now only lets you add 10 amiibos to your collection before making you pay for a subscription. No thanks. That’s an uninstall.

Response from developer

I understand your frustration, however it was either this or close the app down. I had to spend significant time building out a new platform that ensure it’s always up to date, server costs, domain costs, etc. If it was free for me it would be free for you as well.

Not a great comeback story

App was great for just tapping and adding amiibo you collected. The updates were slow to add new amiibo but when the app is free, this is a non issue (at least for me). Even with the lack of updates in several months, I was still unbothered.

Now, the app comes back with a brand new update. And it’s become pretty much useless to anyone.

You get to manually add just up to 10 amiibo to your collection for free. After that you can either pay a monthly fee or yearly fee to unlock the ability to add more than 10 (this is never unlimited as that would imply an infinite amount of amiibo). The upgrade does offer other things like cloud back up, which is nice but unnecessary to me (there’s other apps that do what this did before the update and for free).

The app is useless to me now, so it’s been deleted and will be forgotten. I had another app that I use and use it to scan the amiibo to add to the collection that serves the same purpose.

Thanks for providing the free app, it was fun while it lasted.

Greedy

App was originally free. After this update you can only track 10 amiibos. Anymore requires a subscription. Do not use this app.

Both a great and terrible update

The "completely new" version is much needed. Seems like it hasn't been updated in almost 2 years. Which, as a paid user, it's pretty egregious to not only be met with a required "$10/annual subscription" *and* a completely wiped collection. I get that upkeep costs money, but given that I already paid once and was left without updates looong before, being forced into an annual subscription just to maintain what I had doesn't instill confidence.

Deleted all my data

New update deleted all data and you can only add 10 amiibo before hitting a paywall. Bye bye.

Paid Subscription Now? Really?

This app was fine, hasn’t been updated for a while. Finally it was, but now it’s a paid subscription for keeping track of your collection, so don’t even bother downloading it. Without the paid plan you can only have 10 things marked off total. Dumbest change ever and no point in keeping it now.

Missing Amiibo, Removed Amiibo, and Feature Complaints

All amiibo released after 2022 are missing.

This app used to include amiibo cards, but all amiibo cards are no longer listed. I am left wondering why they were removed.

Version 12.0.0 mentions something about supporting accounts. I do not see it in the app.

From the sounds of things, you have to pay a subscription just to back up your collection and sync it across multiple devices. I am sick and tired of subscriptions.

The preview section on this app’s store page shows what the app looked like before version 12.0.0.

Version 12.0.0 says that the app will always be up to date. I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the app is still missing amiibo. In fact, amiibo cards are no longer listed in the app.

I do not recommend this app.

Let me know which Amiibo is missing. I’ll get it updated asap! I’ll also be adding a feature where users can request features, etc

Cool, but outdated

The idea is great, but if it updated it would be at its best. It only goes to 2023 amiibo at the most.

Please add the new amiibos

I like it but it needs the new amiibo
