Not good enough to charge money

Apps like google translate give more accurate definitions and translations

Terrible font

Great dictionary made extremely difficult to read by the awful font. I'll find a different app which is easy to read.

Not a dictionary

When you set English to Italian and type an English verb - it gives you you everything about the English verb - really??

Useful tool

I study several languages, and this dictionary has features that I have found helpful in my favorite dictionary apps. It provides verb conjugations and an ample number of sample sentences.

Nouns and verbs

I find that there is not enough of a marked difference between the nouns and the verbs under each word heading. For example Sleep which can be a noun or a verb, you have to scroll carefully through all nouns to eventually get to the verb which you can easily miss as it’s the same font as the rest. A slightly different bullet point is the only difference. The separation between the 2 should be much more clearly highlighted so that you could jump straight there.

This App does not work

The App was clumsy when moving between words and verbs. Many verb congregations are missing, and on occasions my whole list of saved words was lost. I had this App for a week but it just doesn’t work as advertised so I have now deleted it and find the free dictionaries much better. I asked the developer for a refund but was just told that, ‘unfortunately, Apple don’t allow developers to issue refunds.’

A useful dictionary for those looking to expand their vocabulary

Verb conjugation tables are useful (especially for the irregular ones). You can star/favourite words. App is easy to use.
A previous review said you can’t hear the words but if you hold down on one there’s an option to hear the word/phrase spoken.

I’ve got many Collins books for the Italian language and this is a good digital version of their physical dictionaries.

Does all I need

One of the rare applications which I want to review and praise. It does all I want from the dictionary
* No subscription necessary - one-time purchase model
* Huge database of words
* Maps grammatical forms back - plural to singular, verbs to infinitive form, allowing one to search for the word as written, which is priceless for irregular verbs
* Works offline
* Provides conjugations for verbs

Limited

Colour for detailed definitions poor .
No speaker pronunciation available.
Expensive for what it is.

Not much of a dictionary

This dictionary doesn’t cover the language well. I’m reading Il Gattopardo and having much better luck looking up words in the free WordReference dictionary than in the Collins. The Collins doesn’t even have all the words in the average article in Corriera della Sera. What’s it actually good for?

Lacunoso

Riporta solo i significati più comuni. La comodità è che funziona off-Line.

최고의 이태리어 사전

이태리어를 배우고자 하는 모든 분들이라면 단연 이러한 예쁜 ( 아름다운 ) 콜린즈 사전 으로 배워야지요

Such a great app, but dark mode is awful

How do I turn dark mode off?

Excellent

Descriptions with excellent examples

Excellent source for Italian

The app takes the place of several other apps and is easy to use. Worth the money!

Excellent

I use it for Italian. Very good examples of usage for every word. Pity it doesn’t clarify that lui and lei are in common usage but that egli and ella are strictly the correct third personal pronouns to use with verbs in a literary context.

Worth it.

Worth the money.

Extremely intuitive layout

So easy to use. Looking up a word never feels like a faff

A great tool

Having moved here from Italy, I still need to look up words all the time.
