Wild business model for no update in SEVEN years
I was excited to see Greek on the available list of languages, so decided to take a gamble, given the No Details Provided. . Imagine my surprise to find after downloading an already extremely outdated app with ‘No Details Provided’ Is my data safe? Is my privacy protected?) and banner ads, that you cannot even sample ONE. SINGLE. WORD. with the audio enabled, without signing up for a 3 day trial. Yes, not even a full week.
This app has not been updated in seven years, has banner ads, and you can’t even offer a sample section with a few basic phrases with the audio enabled, to see if it’s even worth purchasing your app.
And where is the LIFETIME option? I don’t do the endless subscription model. I like to buy my apps ONCE and actually own them.
If this app were regularly updated, and I could test out what the quality of voices used, and perhaps explore how the offline feature works, you might have more luck convincing me of its value. I was so shocked by the way it is set up, that I had to go research whether this is even a Collin’s product (The app is in fact genuine/associated with Collins.) The name Collins used to indicate it was a quality product. I happily used an actual Collin’s English dictionary with my EFL students with no problems- no subscription fee either and it is STILL MINE.👎

A terrible dictionary
I am terribly disappointed with this dictionary. It doesn’t deliver.
Missing Languages
I could only give 3 stars since many languages are not available. I realize it is a large task to cover all languages. The biggest letdown was seeing Arabic, but not finding Hebrew, which may be the oldest language still in use today. I also did not find Hindi or Chinese, very disappointing.
A scam
I pay $5.99 for this app helping me with words translation from French to English and it doesn’t work at all. When I write a word for translation it gives a list of words beginning with A what ever the word I am asking for. It’s a perfect scam as I do not find any way to be reimbursed.
Cancel Subscription
I want to cancel the monthly payment subscription. WHERE? HOW? I've been all over the internet and met with dead ends. App was dounloaded 9-3-2024 ad after a week of frustration using the app, I realized that my other dictionaries better meet my multi-linguistic needs.
Do I have a life sentence of paying a $0.99/month charge for this unwanted downloaded app?

Collins World Dictionary
Not a comprehensive dictionary when translating from Greek to English. Really limited vocabulary. Disappointing.

In my opinion, Collins Dictionary is way better than other dictionaries.
Collins World Dictionary
I am very disappointed with this app as it is so basic. I got it for the French-English dictionary mainly. It is very basic compared to the free online Collins French-English dictionary, which I had thought would be the version used. The definitions are single words only, there are no example sentences, no idiomatic expressions as in the Collins free. I tested it by looking up some common French words: con, conne, conard, conasse - no definitions for these words at all, which is a surprise as they do appear in the Collins free. Then I looked in the About section and see that this is just the Mini Gem French English dictionary. If that is the level you want/need then fine but it is not for me. I will be cancelling.

May be good
This app may work smashingly well but if it does, it isn’t obvious to me. I can’t get it to look up a Spanish work for the life of me.
It’s ok but hard to navigate and sounds awful
I tried this for German and found that the pronunciation sounds were of such low quality it was hard to hear anything correctly for more complex words. Sounds like it was ripped from a CD made in 1995.
Worst dictionary app
Worst dictionary I have ever used
Audio does not work
I usually use wordreference but decided to pay for offline searching and consistent audio. Unfortunately the Collins audio does not work and the help settings are extremely basic, providing no clues. I’m still on the free trial but there’s no obvious unsubscribe button so hoping this doesn’t turn into a paid failure!

basic navigation features don’t work!
not possible to nav back to home/start screen after looking up a word. the back arrow doesn’t work. i have to literally reboot the app in order to look up a new word. running iOS 15.3 on iPhone 13 pro max
Is this a joke app?
Search only provides audio pronunciations, word classification and literally nothing else.
