Way limited
The timer options are extremely limited and the connection to the lights takes more steps than it should. It has a lot of potential but unless you want flashing lights with basic colors the timer setting won’t work for you
Tons of potential, but falls short
Great idea and the lights are durable from one season to the next, but the connection to control the lights from a cell phone is weak and impractical. The software version needs to be updated with better color options as the current options are limited (unless you are into tacky color modes). Out of all the color modes, there are really only 2-3 that would’t fall under an ordinance violation for obnoxious combinations. If the software update could include more practical options, and the cell phone control signal was more than ten feet from the unit, i would have given 5 stars and a raving review. Unfortunately these lights are stuck in their original 1.6 version over the 3 years that i have owned them.

Works well
Reinstall app every time you try to connect. 1. Enable Bluetooth. 2. Reinstall app. 3. Open app and swipe down and wait for light to show up. 4. Select it.

The connectivity is always dropping and the app always crashes
Out of date functions
It’s clear Phillips doesn’t maintain the UX for this app. Very poor. Functionality is clunky. Doesn’t remember settings day to day. Settings on app don’t match output of lights (eg my all says white lights but really it’s multicolor).
App is not working
As of 2025, nothing in the app is working with the Tree feature. I deleted and reinstalled the entire app, but the only function that still works is the “Off” option.
Mode doesn’t stay set
The timer works, but it always turns on to a different mode that for which it’s set. It drives me crazy!
Icicle lights
Purchase lights last year and put them back up this year only for them not to work.
Return these horrible lights
Phillips should be ashamed of this product. Absolute disgrace.
Easily the worst app
I’m using this godawful piece of garbage for the second year in a row and it’s somehow gotten even worse? It’s an app by Philips that cannot find the Philips product it was made expressly to support, even while standing right next to said product. Guess I’ll chuck all my Philips light sets into the sea?

Crashes
Crash out every time it try to change colors or when I try to connect it
Horrible app
The app will not accept a stop time for a program. Every night I have to connect via blue tooth to shut the lights down. Most of the time it takes multiple attempts to connect. Just terrible.

Disconnecting and not letting me turn it on/off or even set up timer. No controller included
Connecting issues
When it works it’s great. Connecting to the lights is hit or miss. Even when you are right next to them the app struggles to find the lights and will go rogue leaving you with lights on for days.
Terrible
My understanding was that all the high tech additions to Christmas lights would make them easier to use. But this app is awful. If it connects, it is slow, has poor range and is nowhere near as flexible as you’d expect. My other Philips lights are garbage too. They last 2 seasons and need to be replaced.
