Helped me through flight school

Wouldn’t be a pilot now without this

I really wish this worked

When the app started, I absolutely was in love with it although it didn’t give you any prompts to know the answer so I initially just got the answer wrong and then hit the hint button and they tell you what they say so it prepared me for the next go round, but it eventually got to a point where it wasn’t understanding my responses. It was saying that the answer was wrong and I will literally verbatim. Lee say what they want me to say or even copy and paste the exact wordage that they wanted me to say in the box and it still was saying that it was wrong and it was the answer that they gave me so this was a little discouraging because I really didn’t like the app. I like the interaction of it all but it just wasn’t allowing me to go any further on it so I had to cancel my membership, but it was fun it just doesn’t work.

Doesn’t know the phonetic alphabet

What’s the point in having this if it doesn’t understand the phonetic alphabet

Student pilot

Practicing radio talk on here is very helpful 10/10 do recommend for practicing just wish it was free because flight classes are expensive enough lol

Great app to learn however…

Maybe it’s an “AI”-ism, but it seems as though the harder the scenarios get the more confusing they get with very little guidance or “why” as to why certain calls need to be made. Maybe if the scenarios were more tailored to the actual airport diagrams it would make more sense. For an app where a premium price is paid for services, at the very least it could be engineered to consider this. Otherwise, 5 stars for the most basic tasks; they all started coming back after some time out of the cockpit. Overall I give this app 3 out 5 stars.

Limited

Not much practice in limited scenarios - even with premium

Actually so bad

The app insists on using November when making a call at a towered airport when nobody irl does that. The use of the company name or model of airplane is perfectly fine and way more common. Combine this with the fact that the app has a not so good ai that is unable to understand slight changes in the order of speaking and being constantly pressured to buy the apps premium version.
All these combine to make the app one giant, unhelpful, mostly detrimental to student pilot’s experience.
DO NOT USE IF YOU ARE A STUDENT PILOT IT WILL MESS YOU UP.

Don’t bother

There are far better options out there if you’re looking for comms practice. ARSim blew Comms out of the water in my comparisons.

Horrible and buggy

This is gotta be one of the worst communication simulators that I’ve used. It’s buggy and often wrong.. Save your money and find a better app.

Great App and getting better! Always adding to and updating to improve the app. Perfect for practicing communication with ATC.

BE VERY CAREFUL WITH THIS APP!

Don’t be fooled by the “good reviews” you see—many of them are not only fake, they’re also in direct violation of Apple’s policies. In the app’s Discord server, the developer literally wrote:

“I’m giving out free premium for 2 months if you leave a review for the app… send a screenshot and email and I’ll activate your free 2-month premium.”

This is a clear breach of Apple’s App Store Review Guideline 3.2.2 – Unacceptable Business Practices, which explicitly prohibits incentivizing reviews. I’ve already reported this to Apple, and knowing they’ll likely delete the post, I made sure to take screenshots as evidence.

THIS IS A CHEAP IMITATION OF ANOTHER APP:
I’ve spent months testing different apps to practice ATC communications, including this one. It quickly became obvious that in its original state, this app was completely useless—poorly built, lacking quality, and offering zero real educational value.

But what’s worse is what came next. As I continued testing apps that actually work, I noticed this one gradually started copying features—blatantly—from another app called ATC One (and doing a poor job at it).

Recently, they went even further and copied ATC One’s website section by section, element by element—including the header, the blog section, and even one of their actual blog entries. It honestly feels like a lazy “copy this page, just change the text” AI prompt. I’ve already reported this to the original developers. Then I noticed they copied core in-app concepts like scenario info, hints, the 5-star feedback storage system with intelligent feedback handling, and more. And just this week, they even replicated the video-based sign-in wall approach. It’s both embarrassing and concerning.

This isn’t just a bad app—it’s a shameless copycat with no integrity. I sincerely hope Apple takes action, removes it from the App Store, and bans the developer from the Apple Developer Program, as has happened in similar cases before.

Don’t waste your time, colleagues.
In aviation, we rely on each other—and that includes choosing tools that are legitimate, trustworthy, and actually add value.

Stay away from this app if you really want to learn.

As a CFI, I recommend that you don’t even waste your time downloading this app—especially if you’re a real pilot looking to learn. This app does the exact opposite of teaching. Even though it tries to be “funny” with its Angry ATC mode, in real life that kind of behavior would get you a pilot deviation, or as a controller, you’d probably end up in jail. That’s exactly what this app promotes.

This app is a game, not a practice tool.
Flight training is NOT a game, and you shouldn’t advertise it as an app to master comms or put it in the education category.

This app is the perfect example of the new wave of no-code / vibe-coded trashy apps made in 5 minutes.

The quality is ridiculously poor, and it’s clear that it wasn’t made by aviation professionals.

Needs a massive amount of work

As a pilot with multiple ratings, I do not recommend this app to anyone, especially student pilots. The app gives no instruction on how to say something, rather it expects you to already know it. If you are to correctly transmit, there is a likely chance that the AI can’t correctly interpret it, because the app does not have an effective speech recognition software, resulting in an “invalid response.” The AI does not provide the correct response if a mistake is made, rather it gets frustrated at you instead, then proceeds to tell you to “start with ___” on your next transmission even if you already have on the previous transmission, providing no feedback (so much for an app labeled “AI Pilot Training.” The app does not recognize that there are multiple ways to transmit information, like the fact that callsigns can be said in different ways. The app does not provide the correct airport name for some airports when selecting a local airport which can be detrimental for some student pilots unfamiliar with their local airport names. These are only some of the mass amount of defective features I have encountered during my use of this app. I am encouraging all pilots to look up ATC communication tutorials elsewhere and to practice with your CFI and to STAY AWAY from this app, it is not worth your time and money.

Response from developer

Hi, thank you for the review! We have incorporated your suggestions and revamped the AI ATC to give good feedback to students so they know what to correct. We have also fixed the callsign issue you described. We are working on refining our airport selection and you should see that reflected in a new update soon. We could not improve the app without people like you 🙏. I hope you decide to try the app again and see how we addressed your feedback!

Great for practicing comms

This app has really good transcription and a lot of real world scenarios to practice.

Response from developer

We really appreciate your review Tong. Thank you :)

Awesome

Love the app

Great but needs improvements

The taxiway and runway numbers are incorrect for my base airport, ai features are great but needs more attention to detail!

Response from developer

Thank you for your review. We are looking into overhauling our airport selection soon. The taxi and runways numbers are currently not attached to any specific airport. We have updated the AI ATC as well to give you better feedback and added more scenarios for you to try! We hope to see you using our app again :)

This is an angry app

It was honestly quite terrible. I was saying the right things, but it couldn’t understand me. And the little character in the corner would turn red and start yelling at me. Even if it just thought I said “2” instead of “to”. Honestly, kind of crazy. It’s made my confidence with communicating with ATC worse and definitely not better.

Response from developer

Hi Anna, sorry about that. We have disabled the AI ATC to not be angry unless you want it to (toggle explicit atc in the scenario screen). We have also improved the transcription and AI ATC feedback. We hope you give the newly improved app a try :)

App needs work

I get the concept they are going for, but the AI needs some work. I fly out of a towered airport regularly, but after even repeating exactly what it said it wouldn’t accept it. I hope it gets better so I can recommend it to my students.

Response from developer

Thank you Austin. We have made massive improvements in the AI ATC understanding and feedback it gives. We hope you give it another try!

Not smart

I am glad there is a trial. I say a message perfectly and it tells me how to say it. Not how or why my message is considered wrong. BTW if a controller ever uses explicit language like in this simulation they would be reprimanded

Response from developer

Thank you for your honest feedback. We have made massive improvements to the AI ATC understanding and corrective feedback. If you try our app again, you should see that it’s much better. Please reach out at daniel@khvdigital.com so I can get you a longer trial. Thank you

Not useful

Great concept, poorly executed. Incorrect responses and prompts. Most corrections to comm calls done in plain English “looking to pick up IFR.” “I’m at the east ramp”Recommend more testing before teaching new pilots bad habit patterns.
