Wonderful safe space!

Fantastic app, wonderful safe space for women+ online to find safety, community, and resource.

Requires Face ID

I saw this app on Instagram and thought it would be a nice alternative. Unfortunately you need to take a selfie of yourself in order to verify your account, and only a verified account can actually interact with other users and make public posts. It doesn’t matter if they say “Don’t worry, we’ll delete your data”, the data is always there. That’s been proven with the tea app and Discord being hacked. This is why Face ID or age verification is so dangerous. Tell your governments that this is dangerous. I will not give any of that info away. The app also crashed in the first fifteen minutes of me using it. I deleted my account and the app.

Interesting

I wish this app had a feature to report a certain posts. People are defending ice on this app, defending fascism. What is this app or company doing about that? Are you OK with fascism on your page? Absolutely vile.

Herland Utopia

Really love this app so far. It’s exactly what I need in a social media capacity

Women supporting women 🫶🏼

Only a week in and I can already feel the supportive vibe of this community. It's so user-friendly and love the overall UI. Definitely loving this app!

Verification Rejected

A pic of a current drivers license is not verification enough. Though I am non-binary, clearly this app is for women only, though it is stated in reviews and overviews that enby users are welcome. Sure, right.

Privacy matters!

This is a hard pass. Take a look at all of the info they collect and attach to your identity. Do you really want all of this personal info in someone else’s hands?? I sure don’t. No rewarding developers who don’t care about my privacy!

Just what I’ve been looking for

A thoughtful, safe space for sharing and building community. Thank you

Love

Such an amazing app. I feel so supported and understood! I’ve been on it for a while now and it just feels like a safe space where I can get advice ✨

Beautiful Concept in Theory

I really love the idea of this app. No like or follower counts, no algorithm that rewards negative engagement, no interacting with robots or fake accounts. The journaling and mental health aspect is what led me here, and it delivers on the journaling feature very well. Its aesthetically pleasing, and also allows you to upload images, which I love. It’s nice that it autosaves your progress while you’re working, so a journal entry isn’t lost if you leave. Sometimes the UI doesn’t cooperate, which can make it difficult to read back what you have written in a comment or in a journal, but otherwise well designed. I feel some things could be organized more intuitively, it can feel like you have to dig a bit to get to where you want to go. I also wish that it was easier to find and join groups of people with similar interests, perhaps something like reddit (without the awful part of reddit).

The biggest turnoff for me is unfortunately the mental health aspect of the app, which was such a disappointment. Mental Health is super important to me and I was excited to see a social platform with a focus on it. Rather than functioning as a resource that provides support, insight, and tools for those who are struggling, it has attracted a user base that is utilizing it to enable their own unhealthy coping mechanisms and toxic behaviors. I see so many people who engage in habitual reassurance and validation seeking, which only offers short term relief and is ultimately unhelpful. I’ve seen a lot of users who seem to only use the app to garner sympathy and justification for their own toxicity, and they are often coddled in the name of ‘support’. Ultimately, there is a lot of self-piteous content that is met with enablement. I fear people who would largely benefit from therapy use this as their primary form of relief rather than a supplement to benefit their mental health journey, and it makes it difficult to engage with the app for its intended purpose.

Overall I really love the purpose behind this app, the drive behind the developers, and I think given some time and polishing it could really flourish.

Awesome App

I absolutely love, love, love this app and I use it daily. The journal prompts are awesome and so is the social media side of this app. I highly recommend it to all women looking for a safe place to heal and interact with others.

Better Social Media

We all know scrolling and social media is toxic but we have been addicted. Communia is different than mainstream social media because you genuinely connect with people, it’s more of a positive atmosphere, and people are more supportive towards each other.

There are no ads. You can use the free or unlock bonus features for a reasonable price. I was happy to pay a small price to avoid ads.

There is also the option to follow groups that are relevant to your interests, and I hope there will be even more groups in the future.

loving the app, no feedback response

the app is brilliant and ive gotten a few friends to join! but there are issues with the direct messaging and journals. ive emailed the care@ourcommunia email address provided in-app, however i havent heard back so i’m not sure if that email is being monitored. figured i would leave a review to notify the folks who run the app — we need to know when we share feedback that it’s being received! love yall, thank you!

A true community app and so fun to interact with and meet new girlfriends

A Truly Safe and Supportive Space for Women

I can’t say enough good things about this app! It’s more than just a social platform—it’s a true community where I feel safe, supported, and genuinely connected. This space allows me to be completely myself, without fear of judgment.

Everyone is incredibly open and respectful. There’s an atmosphere of honesty and trust that’s so special.

The team behind the app (who are amazing, by the way!) is actively involved, always answering questions, asking for feedback and input, and ensuring that this remains a safe and welcoming environment.

I’ve never felt so comfortable letting my guard down, and I’m so grateful to have found this space. If you’re looking for a place to connect authentically, this is it!

3.5 Stars Leaning on Four

I love the concept of the app. I’ve already connected with lots of lovely women from across the globe.

The FAQ section leaves a lot to be desired. It doesn’t address any in-app issues, like how to create new journals, why I can’t post to certain journals, etc. The app is relatively user friendly, but it could be better. It also runs pretty slowly.

Otherwise, it’s an excellent app and I’m grateful for the community.

Still learning

I love the concept and all the different things you can do with interfaces etc sometimes it has problem loading
my entries and just deletes them but maybe I write too much as well! 😅

UI makes it impossible to use

It’s a nice idea, but it’s impossible to use due to difficult AI. It’s also not possible to post in certain communities and it’s not clear if there’s an unstated way to join those communities first or if this is a glitch.

Amazing

Okay where do I even begin? The app is so organized into different topics and so you can choose what you wanna see, everyone on the app is so friendly and helpful and supportive, and it’s truly a great time to be away from men on an app and just be able to post my issues and ask for advice without judgment. It’s truly a much calmer better version of twitter and I’ve used it more then my twitter since I got it. Also, the ceo and other people who work on the app are so kind. Ofc an app isn’t going to be perfect right away but it’s extremely close to it and the people who work on the app are very open to hearing your suggestions on how to improve!! I recommend this to everyone

LOVE!!!!! GIVE IT A TRY!!!!!!

Communia has been a great tool in my everyday life. The community is full of people who care so much about giving advice and lifting others up. The app is beautifully designed and refreshing compared to other forms of social media. I always leave inspired rather than feeling yucky. I can’t wait to see what they continue to do :)
