About

Companion for Hermes Agent is a client for your own Hermes Agent dashboard. Point it at your self-hosted server, sign in, and chat with your agent from your iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple Watch. This is an independent app. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by Nous Research, and it needs a Hermes Agent server that you run yourself. WHAT YOU GET • Chat with your agent: your history, streaming replies and the tool calls it runs • Answer your agent when it asks for an approval or has a question • A thread list with pinning, archive and delete, plus your profiles and bots • Bot Mode specialists with their own chats, and group rooms on compatible Hermes dashboards • A Kanban board, when your server has the Kanban plugin turned on • Create and manage scheduled tasks, check run history and open their chats, when your server supports schedules • Browse your server's skills, manage plugins and configure MCP servers, when those features are available • Notifications when a reply finishes or your agent needs you • Share content to your agent from other apps • Continue a saved chat between iPhone, iPad and Mac with Apple Handoff • Find recent chats with Spotlight on iPhone, iPad and Mac • Ask Hermes through Siri and Shortcuts on iPhone and iPad • Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets on iPhone and iPad for chats, requests and quick actions • App Lock to require device authentication before opening your chats • An Apple Watch app to read replies and dictate an answer • Sign in with OpenID Connect or a username and password. Sign-in happens in a secure system sign-in sheet, so your password manager works • Your session tokens are kept in the system keychain and refreshed automatically PRIVACY No account with us and no advertising. The app talks to the server address you enter. Release builds also send diagnostics to a server run by the developer: app and device information, installation IDs, request timings, error details and crash reports. Crash reports include error messages, stack traces and recent app actions. Chat messages, session tokens and your server address are not collected as diagnostic fields, but error text can contain context from the operation that failed. The full list is in the privacy policy.

What's New in Companion for Hermes Agent

0.1.75

November 1, 2026

0.1.75 (2026-10-31) You can watch and steer the agent's own desktop, Hermes can message you first, and memory changes can wait for your approval. Highlights - Messages from Hermes. A profile can now send you a message with hermes send --to hermes_app:inbox. The app notifies you, also while it's in the background, and a tap opens the chat. Turn it off under Notifications, Messages from Hermes. (#837) - Waiting for you. Memory and skill changes Hermes holds for your approval are listed on the Memory screen. Approve or reject them one at a time or all at once. (#836) - Read aloud. A finished reply has a Read aloud action next to Copy when the profile has text to speech set up on the server. (#869) Added - Watch the bot's screen live from its card in the Activity panel or the preview under a running computer-use call. (#852) - Install the bot's desktop on the server from the app. It asks for the sudo password and never stores it. (#853) - The Memory screen lists entries per file with how full each one is. (#824) - Turn memory learning on or off and choose how often chats are reviewed, on the Memory screen. (#830) - See the memory provider and reset memory from the Memory screen. (#831) - The memory tool card in a chat shows what was saved, a change waiting for approval, or a full memory file. (#825) - The Mac sidebar has a Yesterday section. (#817) Changed - Connecting to a public server over plain http:// now asks first. An address without a scheme uses https:// for public hosts. Local network and tailnet servers, and the server you already use, work as before. (#870) - Opening a chat marks it read on the server, so the dashboard stops showing it as unread. (#818) Fixed - You stay signed in when the Keychain is briefly unreadable or a token refresh overlaps another request. (#843) - On a Mac, sign-in opens in the browser when the sign-in sheet refuses to start. (#863) - Tapping a collapsed tool group opens it in place instead of jumping to the end of the chat. (#864) - A request on a stalled network ends after a minute instead of hanging. (#861) - A new chat focuses the message field.
