Poor UI, feels cheap
Would you like to be hustled $1.99 for the privilege of drawing a rectangle? Because that’s literally something this app does. The UI is also super bad.

File Management Buggy
Without trying hard, I lost work. The file browser is confusing. There is no escape hat hatch after you open it to get back to your drawing. I
Flexible & Simple
I use Concepts to take rough notes for class (background is customizable w/ grids to help) and the whiteboard helps me visualize connections in ways beyond a standard A4 paper with limited space.
Additionally, I use this for drawing sketches to get ideas down and thanks to the simple UI w/ strictly necessary features, it keeps me from feeling pressured to make a masterpiece and overthink.
The free version is definitely doable but some features are locked behind pay wall (resizing selected strokes was a big one for example) but thankfully the “Essentials” pack is a reasonable one-time payment.
FEATURES I ENJOY:
- organize whiteboards into folders w/ folders
- pen customization & standard options
- importing/exporting images (exporting w/ variety of formats)
- colour wheel variety & custom colour pallet creation (slightly hidden by UI but still easy to get to)
Currently there’s no cross platform between iOS and Windows versions but they say it’s being worked on (which will make it infinitely better when that happens)
Overall, I’ve been searching for an app that functions like a drawing program but has an infinite canvas that lets me explore with drawing and note taking, the pen can be a little chunky when drawing but it’s still is a nice middle ground.

Wants Lots Of Money
Concepts is a great app with so much potential. I accept and understand that subscriptions and payments are needed for extra features, but locking something as simple as the Move tool is just absurd. It has layers, rulers, shapes, custom colour palettes, even different pen types — while lacking in the Free version — yet not essential tools like exporting in specific formats or the move tool. It’s still a great app, but I think other apps like Magma or even WhiteboardFox could perform better. If the paywalls in front of these features were removed it’d be a 5-star. If you just want to draw, with an eraser, undo/redo and a pen, digitally, then this is the app for you, not for me — unfortunately.

Fantastic for planning diy projects.
Being about to see measurements as you manipulate objects is so useful.
App is intuitive and fast.
After 1 day of use, it’s my goto vector app.

Concepts deserves credit for doing something that has become surprisingly rare: honoring the people who supported the app early. I bought the app years ago, and my purchase still means something today. I wasn’t pushed into a subscription just to keep using features I already paid for.

Invaluable tool for designers
Doesn’t remember your purchases
I have been a user of this application since the very beginning. I have always been a pro user and have paid to unlock all of the features of this software. This application currently has a bug where it will forget which features you have paid to unlock. And it requires you to sign into the Apple Store to restore your purchases. The problem is that this happens to me multiple times per day. And I frequently work in the field off-line where there is no internet connection. So I am unable to open and work in certain files, especially when I have used pro features. This is very frustrating. No amount of restarting the application or restarting my iPad will fix it. It’s at the point where the app is unusable. I have tried opening Support tickets, but nobody seems to want to fix the problem.
If you download this app, don’t bother paying for the pro features because you may not be able to use them all the time.

It’s been a while
I haven’t used this app for over a year, going over my Art Skills within other Apps. A fellow Artist put me on via link of another Artist on YouTube reviewing it and other Apps. I just went in and overcame the slight learning curve and replaced my favorite Drawing App with this one.
Great Concept
The tutorials included in this app are worth the price of admission. I’m enjoying the app along with the learning process.
Mind Map Cheat Code
I love this app for taking notes, especially non-notes like a mind map. I love the easy to use lasso tool and the easy color swap button for IOS. Compared to other infinite canvas apps, Concepts has drastically improved my efficiency.

I got this app mainly for my sewing planning and fashion sketches, but I ended up doing so much more! It’s free, with no ads. There is an option to buy pro, but you still have plenty of tools and options without it. There is no limit (at least that I know of) to drawings and folders. You can import photos, and trace over them and color them (that’s what I do when bored), or just doodle! Also great for story planning!

Solid
Concepts has been a solid go to for immediate conceptualization. I’m particularly impressed with its ability to import imagery, allow resizing, place and erase while building a quick collage to reference for sketching. Since I prefer to sketch out many ideations by hand, these minor conveniences are awesome… because all of a sudden I realize i can sketch right on top of the images and then sketch beside them. I’m testing out using it in tandem with procreate; where more polished collages and are can be done. However, between the two concepts has been a lot simpler to simply start a new drawing and get going. Excellent stand alone, even better in tandem.

I just downloaded this app. cant even load it. i hate it!!
Really Nice. Needs a couple adjustments.
It took me a while to warm up to it, but I’m really liking it. I just wish there was an object eraser that deletes entire stroke on contact. I also find the writing experience subpar compared to Goodnotes. The colour palette management is very unintuitive to me. It’s not obvious to me how to add and remove colours from my current palette.
