Each day gets one of five words: heavy, low, even, light, bright. The Year view spreads your days out in ink, darker for heavier, one year at a time or one month across every year you have, with your brightest and heaviest days and who was there for each. A sentiment is not just a mood. It is an expression of your inner dialogue, and it is a node in your Atlas. THE ATLAS People, places, and themes, noticed as you write. When a guess is wrong, hide it or merge it with one tap. Search a name, a word, or a date and get every page where it appears, grouped by year. None of this appears on the writing page. PIN, Face ID or Touch ID, auto-lock, and a recovery key shown once and never stored. Sentiment and the Atlas are read only after unlock. Nothing about a page leaves the device in the clear. Export writes one plain-text file with a heading for each day, and Import reads a file laid out the same way, so a journal from another app, or a text file you kept yourself, becomes pages. Four years of sample pages are there if you want them, so the Atlas, the Year, and search have something to show before your own journal catches up. Removing them leaves your own pages alone.
