Doesn’t not work on iPad
I downloaded the app. Signed up for the trial and the app now opens to a white screen and does nothing. Deleting the app and canceling my trial so I don’t waste my money.
Seems Broken
This sounded like exactly the app I was looking for, but unfortunately, after the initial onboarding and creating an account, it just opens to a blank white screen. Uninstalling/reinstalling made no difference. Disappointed :(
Super helpful, some feedback for the recipe creators
I started using CookSmarts about four months ago to be more intentional about my dinners. I’ve lost more than 10 pounds purely from meal planning, and many of the meals are really tasty. The grocery list feature is fantastic. Definitely worth the subscription!
Suggestions for improvement:
- list the ingredients in order of use
- move the nutrition facts to the bottom so there’s less scrolling between ingredients and instructions
- consider week-to-week dependencies. If I buy a unique ingredient or use half a can of something, help me use it again soon!
- offer a setting to keep the device from going to sleep

Love this app!
I have been using CookSmarts for years to cook for my family. Totally worth it to outsource the meal planning and recipe finding. I gift a three month subscription to friends all the time! Try it!!!
Great service at a great price
I’ve been using Cook Smarts since 2020 and I love it. It lessons the mental load of cooking while allowing me to customise recipes for my family. Love this app.

We started using Cook Smarts many many years ago and honestly can say that we couldn’t live without this meal planning tool! It changes your life by making planning a meal quick and easy with many healthy and interesting options. It takes me minutes each week, MINUTES, to plan! We love it so much that both of my adult children use it faithfully!! Literally, life changing!

I’ve been a member since 2014. I joined as a young adult who wanted to learn how to cook better and didn’t know how to start. The recipes and training videos helped me go from a novice who made many convenience meals to someone much more comfortable in the kitchen making everything from risotto to pot roast. I have since become a mom to two kids and thanks to cooksmarts I do not need to worry about putting healthy meals on the dinner table. As a longtime member I love how flexible it is to create a weekly menu with my favorite meals and develop a shopping list, or choose one of the service created weeks to try out some new recipes. I’m so thankful I found this service when I did!

Great meal-planning app
I’ve used cooksmarts for years. It’s well worth the subscription cost, simplifying shopping and helping us eat healthy, varied, and reasonably-portioned meals. The app works just as well as the website. This service has really helped us become better cooks and improved our meals.
Incredible Meal Planning App
I’ve used Cook Smarts for almost 6 years now and love it! Has been so helpful to get my family out of our rut and has introduced us to lots of different types of meals that have now become our standard. Absolutely love it and recommend it to everyone!
Game changer, been using for 5+ years
We didn’t really know how to meal plan or cook from scratch, but wanted to learn. Tried other meal plans, and they felt very routine (tacos every Tuesday) or too carb heavy (hamburger helper style dinner every night), OR too gourmet with weird ingredients, wasted half-of-things and 4-hour prep time. Cook Smarts plans are perfect. 4 fresh meals every week, borrowing ingredients from previous days, lots of fresh veggies, varied proteins, and carbs that complement the meal rather than dominate it.

Cooksmarts user for years!
We have been using cooksmarts for years and love it! It makes our weekly meal planning and grocery shopping so much easier and helps us make varied, healthy and delicious dinners. And it’s much more affordable than other options. The app has all the convenience of the website. (One minor note - it seems to log me out each time - I would prefer to stay logged in.)

My daughter moved into her first apartment and immediately asked for cooking supplies and a Cook Smarts membership for the holidays. She has been helping me cook dinner for the past 5 years with Cook Smarts and we both love the flexibility which allows us to cook for various eaters and easily build meal plans and grocery lists. She will definitely be eating better now that she has a kitchen rather than the dining hall and her own access to Cook Smarts.

Can Not Live Without
Seriously could not imagine life without this service. I actually enjoy cooking, want my family exposed to a wide variety of cuisine, and want to make overall healthy meals. The bane of my existence was trying to cobble together my weekly menus to meet hose goals. The time spent and money wasted on ingredients that went bad or did not get used was depressing.
Then I discovered Cook Smarts. I no longer have to think about what to make! I love the variety of foods, the ability to edit menus to suit needs, save favorites, etc. For the price it is so worth it!!

Life Changing
We have used Cook Smarts for over 8 years and honestly I don’t know how we meal planned prior. This is easily the best monthly subscription we spend money on as a family. It’s truly been life changing. Healthy food, organized meals, easy grocery lists, and a wide variety of cuisine. Cook Smarts has saved us money, taught us about food, and reduced weekly stress. More than worth it!
