Im so glad there’s an app now!

Cook Well helped me so much at the beginning of my cooking journey two years ago. I decided to learn how to cook beyond the basics, no longer wishing to settle with my very white upbringing of salt and pepper (garlic also when we were being fancy) being our staple seasonings for every meal. Now, I am the one teaching others cooking techniques, such as blooming spices, and how to adapt recipes with the ingredients you have on hand based on the flavor profile. That’s all thanks to Cook Well for giving me the tools—all I needed to do was pick them up.
I appreciate that the app is a lot like the Cook Well website. One could enjoy many of the same perks of the app on the web if they so pleased. Honestly, though, I’m happy to pay the subscription fee if it means being able to easily plan my meals in the app.

Not impressed

I was really hesitant to get a subscription because I didnt know what to expect without a free trial or video breakdown of how to use it or a marketting video about why I should subscribe. I watched Ethans content before and I expected the app to be like it, more of the framework based cooking that hes been branding his business in. Im a little disappointed to see that it does not feel like that. Its just a collection of different recipes that you would see in other food blog websites. While I appreciate the small descriptions for why some ingredients are used, I feel like its not as deep as his videos would typically go. For some recipes, I just feel like Im just FOLLOWING a recipe and not all learning how to use the ingredients or why some cooking techniques are used . Overall while the idea couldve been good, currently the price point doesnt justify the service it provides. It feels like I can look at other free services and can pretty much do what the app currently does. Hopefully these gets fixed in the future.

Needs free trial

Love Ethan and his channel so when it said I needed a subscription I thought it was worth a try. This is a lovely app and well thought out; I wish it was cheaper monthly so that it is more accessible to a wider base of people.

This app is definitely very good and could get a large following with proper pricing and advertising.

Confusing?

I don’t understand how this app works. I really like Ethan, i really want him to be successful. But i can’t figure out how to use this app. Im struggling to figure out how this app is going to be helpful for me plan my weekly menu.

Paid and not told

I mean if your willing to pay go ahead but if it told me before hand instead of me making a whole account than I don’t know It could be good.
