Cheats on Apple’s “Sign in with iCloud” protections
This app, to order coffee from a local coffee shop, needlessly requires a phone number login in order to track and market to you. On the account creation screen, it does appear to offer a “Sign in with iCloud” button, as required by Apple’s App Store rules, to let you create an account without sharing your personal info with the company (i.e., to share only a fake forwarding email address generated by Apple). But after choosing that option, it then pops up a “Bind to phone number screen” that requires you to share your phone number to link to the account, in violation of Apple’s rules (which never should have been approved if App Review had caught it). So there’s no way to order a coffee with the app without sharing your personal details with the company. How slimy!! I have deleted the app and do not plan to return to this store, despite living literally steps away on the same block.
