Awesome source

I love how easy it is to use and gives actual certifications

So much for the “FREE” courses

Total bait and switch when you read any promoted article a extolling the virtues of free certification programs with Coursera. Not a single one of them are free any longer.

straight scammers

After 7-days free they automatically take 24.50 from your bank account didn’t even ask just took it, and they don’t let you refund because “you could cancel anytime” when we could forget about this all the time because is not a priority thought, and in their policy we SPECIFICALLY can’t refund id we do a payment after our free trial end, it probably is a tactic to get money from us. awesome

Great so far!

Hard to navigate compared to website version

Trying to navigate the app is much more confusing compared to accessing Coursera through the website.

Hidden Refund Policy

I requested a refund for Coursera Plus Subscription, but the process is extremely non-transparent. The system simply shows “Not eligible for refund” without providing any clear explanation, terms, or reasoning behind this decision. There is no visible link to detailed refund policy terms before purchase, and customer support does not proactively clarify the eligibility criteria.

This lack of transparency feels like a deliberate attempt to discourage refund requests rather than genuinely informing customers of their rights. Subscription-based platforms should clearly display refund eligibility conditions upfront — not bury them or leave customers guessing after the fact.

I would strongly recommend Coursera to make their refund policy more visible, accessible, and clearly communicated at the time of purchase. Until then, I’d advise potential subscribers to research third-party reviews before committing to Coursera Plus.

Coursera

I love this app it helps me with tons of Korean and you don’t have to pay but if you want you can❤️

Too Tall

App Won’t Stay Awake

While watching videos in a course the screen keeps sleeping even if the video is full screen

Glitchy app/website and poor customer service

Impossible to get a simple receipt from them. Then I found out there’s no way to cancel unless you dispute the transaction directly via your credit card company. Buyer beware!

Do not like the update for pushing people to do a course with a fee premeditated, bring back audits.

Earlier coursera had an option to audit a course. I was one of the audit fellows who explores a course enough to invest in it. If the course I have invested doesn’t give me benefits my money is being wasted which I am not grateful for.I would like to have the audit option back to all courses irrespective of the specialisations as well. I can attend courses, then get certificate for ones that are relavent to career. I belong to basic sciences committee and there’s not enough courses worth exploring in coursera currently.

Ai

Effective

Coursera user reviews

Coursera gives me chances to earn valuable knowledges and certifications to get my dream job

The AI is extremely frustrating to work with at times

I understand AI for dialogue but grading with AI is genuinely frustrating. It does not provide good feedback in fact it will reject you when you use that feedback. Its very nit picky when it comes to answer it is trying to look for something to criticise it seems at times. Each time I interact with it. Its genuinely a nightmare. This AI is nowhere close to being used in a professional app setting although I encountered in practice assignments for now. I still bang on my wall whenever I interact with it. It never finds something to be satisfactory. Like a question I encounter never asks for something too detailed, it simply asks for answer and an explanation which would likely be 50 words+ I am not writing a 500 word essay on why I used a specific data type.

**2.5 — Login system needs an update**

Mobile login is smooth, but on desktop and Apple TV you're still stuck with old-school username/password — no SSO, no biometrics, no passkey support, nothing. For a platform teaching modern software and programming, that's a glaring gap. Fix the login experience on non-mobile devices.

Course era review

I love course era because I am improving my professional career and knowledge in general.
