About
Crate is a fast, simple, private home for your records.
FAST
Tap +, point the camera, done. Scan the barcode on the back, or snap the front of the sleeve and Crate names the album in seconds, even older records with no barcode. The camera stays open after each one, so you can work through a whole stack in one go.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
No account. No sign-in. No ads, no tracking, no analytics. Your collection lives on your iPhone, not on a server of ours. A cover photo is only sent to be matched if you say so, and our server keeps nothing.
SIMPLE
One button adds a record: Scan Barcode, Scan Cover, or Search. Crate shows you the match and the pressing, and one tap puts it in your crate. No forms, unless you want to add notes.
BEAUTIFUL
Your covers, big and front and center, in a warm, dark grid that feels like flipping through your shelf. Open a record to see its sleeve and disc, with the tracklist laid out side by side.
EVERYTHING A COLLECTOR NEEDS
• Tracklists by side, with running times
• Label, catalog number, year, country, format, and your own notes
• Your own photo as a record's cover, cropped square
• A duplicate check when you scan, search, or add, so you don't buy the same record twice
• Import your Discogs collection by username or from an export file
• Sort by recently added, artist, title, or year
Free, with no in-app purchases.
Crate is made by Blank Slate Creative. Questions or ideas: hello@blankslate.biz.

October 27, 2026
Snap the cover: photograph the front of a sleeve and Crate names the album, even with no barcode. You choose whether cover photos are matched in the cloud. Quick add: the camera stays open after each record, so you can add a stack in a row. Tracklists: open any record to see its tracks, side by side. Your own cover art: take a photo of a sleeve and crop it square to use as the record's cover. One Add button with Scan Barcode, Scan Cover, and Search. Better search, including compilations and soundtracks, and faster cover art.
