Love the game, but it’s broken

I’ve found this game is a really nice way to play something while relaxing. It has a great vibe, and the progression is solid. However, the game is broken for me. I have been trying for an entire week to catch the colorful headdress in the Great Lakes, and it has yet to show up. I’ve been casting at the old camp every day for many days straight and have yet to find it. All of the other progression task items I was able to find in 3-5 casts, and I cant even count the number of casts I’ve made for this headdress. It has completely halted my game progression and I am stuck now. I have no idea how to progress further.

A little confusing but love it!

Love love this game. Have been obsessed since it came out. I’m starting to lose my mind though, HOW do I unlock the chemical plant 😭 I’ve unlocked all islands, no missing fish, completed 75% perfect dna samples.

I’ve also unlocked the shrine but it just says come back tomorrow…but the message hasn’t changed 🫠

ANY help would be greatly appreciated! This game is AMAZING. Thank you for bringing this to Apple Arcade!!!

[Updated Comments] Nice game, could make the lure easier to upgrade

Thanks the developers for the response of previous comments!

I find the number of fish that required to upgrade a lure is a bit too overwhelming. I have lv.4 on my Tuna, but there is no meaningful improvement on the weight of the fish I catch. Every level requires 10x of the level number of fish. I wonder if it is ever possible to upgrade the lure to a meaningful level, even for the common fish, not to mention the rare fish.

Old comments:

Some tasks take forever to finish, such as getting 3 plastic bottles, or get some rare fish. It seems the probability of rare items is too small, which makes the game less relaxing and more tedious. This beats the purpose of this game. Recommend to make all the tasks easier, so that we can enjoy fishing.

The same goes for getting the wood. Cut the required amount by half would be much better.

It would also be super interesting if we can custom the appearance of the fish tanks. Put different decorations, rocks, etc.

Response from developer

Thanks for the detailed feedback! Some items and fish are easier to find in specific areas, so exploring different spots can make a big difference. Progression and building are also intended to take some time, but we’ll keep an eye on how relaxing the experience feels. We really like your aquarium customization idea!

Fun game, but the real time aspect makes it frustrating.

The game is a lot of fun. I like the graphics and the little humorous touches. That said, I'm finding myself somewhat frustrated with the real time nature of the game, particularly when it comes to advancement. I've been stuck on Great Lakes for several days, because a) I needed to level up before I could actually manage to catch the monster, fine. But b) that monster only appears to be available in the early morning (despite its shadow showing up at all times of the day), and that's not usually when I'm playing games. So I'll go through an entire day, set myself up for getting it the next morning, and then not have time to do it before that early morning period is over. So I'm stuck here and I can't get to the next area yet. It's frustrating. I'm not a fan of games that make me play them on their schedule rather than working on my schedule.

Don’t confuse this with Dredge

The trailers give an impression that this will be similar to the dark haunted themes of Dredge. It instead is more like an Animal Crossing fishing game, complete with seasonal fish and real time day/night cycles.

The Apple Arcade version is a modified version of the normal version but with the premium gems and real money purchases removed. But it still has a lot of the daily grind and progression that slows dramatically after the first few levels. Heck, I found treasure chests with the premium gems that I can’t actually use and instead are effectively worthless.

The fishing is very much like Animal Crossing. Find a fish shadow and tap when they bite. Harder fish have a mini game to reel them in that gets pretty tiresome and needlessly tedious and drawn out.

Response from developer

Thanks for the detailed feedback. We understand your concerns about progression and the fishing minigame. Could you please tell us which treasure chest gave you premium gems that you couldn’t use? This will help us investigate the issue.
