Budget Lover

I love this app! It has become my primary bank account. I love that i have different envelopes within my own back account.

Almost perfect banking app

I've been using Crew for about 2 months and it's almost everything I ever wanted in a banking app. First, it offers a competitive interest rate on a CHECKING account which is like unheard of. I love the pockets and the ability to assign custom rules so I can easily send money to my pockets before I'm even tempted to spend it. The feature to assign transactions to specific pockets is also a game changer (I haven't ordered a debit card yet but you can also assign IRL transactions to specific pockets with the card). My only complaints so far are 1) I had a bit of trouble setting up my direct deposit. This is likely less of a Crew issue and more just that they partner with a small bank. But the team is incredibly responsive (I sent an email and the CEO responded). 2) The Autopilot feature isn't quite there yet. I love it in theory. The reserve is a great feature and the ability to easily track monthly income, spending, pockets/savings, and surplus is very helpful. My main complaint is the "Upcoming Payments" section is not intuitive at all. For example, I had it set to send $200/month to my Car Insurance pocket every 2 weeks (on payday). I would expect the Upcoming Payments to list out those biweekly transfers (the day of the transfer, how much is being transferred into the pocket, and where it's coming from). Instead it lists one transfer for ~$91 and just says the plan is "on track" by a specified date. I get that that $91 doesn't equal $200/2 because sometime times there are 3 paychecks a month. I also get that it might not just pull a set dollar amount from every paycheck to leave as much spending money upfront as possible. I appreciate those features and would like to continue to use them but I can't if I use the alternative and set up a custom Payday Routine rule to transfer a set amount every paycheck. But as a user, I would like to be able to track and anticipate when and where the autopilot transfers to my pockets are coming from instead of relying on this black box "on track" message.

A better checking account

Crew Finance combines high yield savings with everyday checking, so your money earns interest while you spend. In my experience, it’s a significant upgrade over Wells Fargo for everyday banking.

Amazing

Great app, clean interface.

Great for the kids

Ever since we got this, it’s been great to be able to help our kids learn about budgeting and spending habits and also find opportunities for them to have an account that they can see their savings and be independent in their spending.

Great Financing App for Families

My mom and sister have set up a family together on here which helps with all of the transferring money around. I love that it give a good amount of interest a month and it doesn’t give some lame 1.50% APY. Mine literally give me 2.95% APY interest each month. I only have an allowance of about $30 a month and yet I’m still making at least a $1 a year in interest.

Best banking app

This is the only app that’s allowed me to get my finances under control. They’re always dropping amazing features as well. Just download the app, you’ll be happy.

Getting There

Crew isn’t perfect, but no fintech banking app is. This one has met nearly all of my asks and the support team has been responsive about bugs and quirks. Updates come which have alleviated some of the pain points, but not all. It’s still cooking, and not surprising given that banking such a challenge to make easy, but it’s getting there. -1 star for some glaring lack of UX research & user friendliness. I hope they can figure these leftover things out and then i’ll be happy to recommend it to people that are much harsher critics.

Simple, Qube & One Refugee Finds Amazing Budgeting App

I’ve been through multiple migrations over the years, most without my approval. After some frustrating sacrifices with Qube & One, and their ultimate collapse/transformation… I’ve finally found the ideal solution for me and my fam.

Amazed at the balance between simplicity, full features & smart automations with a solid philosophical foundation and approach to banking & budgeting.

Bravo Gentry, Steve & the whole Crew crew.

Future of Banking

It took a while to get workflows set up, but it completely replaced how I budget for things.

Bill reserve/Autopilot is powerful. If you’re looking for a way to have money ready for your bills automatically, this is it. Name your bills (or select them from transactions) and include how you’ll fund them (paycheck, income) and it will fund those bills by the date they need to go out.

That by itself is worth the switch. But that’s not why I am writing this review.

Imagine you’ve set a budget on takeout for the month. Let’s call it a dining out pocket. You create a pocket (in their terms) for the month. You create a virtual card that you can use online that is specific to the pocket. Transaction automatically deducts from that pocket. Easy.

Didn’t create a virtual card? No problem, if you paid with your main debit card, you can categorize it after and it will deduct from the appropriate pocket.

Wanted to use your CC for cash back or miles? Pay the card with Crew and select the category and (say it with me now) it will deduct from the appropriate pocket.

Wanted to dine in instead? Select the appropriate pocket in the app that you want to use once you get the bill or are at the POS to pay.

It’s that simple.

And if you’re tracking your budget, something tells me you’d like to have some money working for you.

You can set a rule to round up transactions to go to saving or checking, etc.

But you can also set rules like I have for something like dining out: at the end of the month, anything that I didn’t use from the budget for dining out, goes into savings, the next day (the 1st of the month) it automatically gets the money transferred from checking.

I never feel the pressure or seeing my checking balance at $30, because I have (mostly) every dollar assigned to a role.

I could see Crew getting into other products like investments, retirement accounts among others, that other neo-banks are participating in and if they’re seeing this, I think it’s a wonderful idea.

I am so stoked being a Crew member.

GET THIS APP NOW

This app will revolutionize your family’s personal finances. I can’t recommend it enough.

It works great, they are responsive, and the principle of the app is solid. Being proactive with your spending, not reactive.

Get it. Get it right away. It’s free. No monthly fee either

Great app!

Crew is great for kids and adults alike. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because they don’t have an investing feature

Best family bank. No contest.

Simple. Clean. Fast and easy.

It does all of the right things. In app budgeting. Easy family funds management. Doesn’t treat you like a product (like greenlight).

Good

It is really good

Works good enough

It works exactly as it should

Debit

Amazing way to introduce your kids to properly using their money

Crew is helpful

This app is very helpful because when I have money and I don’t have anywhere to put it I walk or drive to CVS and dad my money to my card and use it when I need to plus you can make titles for each thing you use it for. You can transfer your money to other people.

Ok

:)

Great Bank

Crew finance is a pretty good bank. Their customer service is top notch. They are always super helpful and patient with you. They’re always willing to answer any and all questions and work with you for any issue you run into. My favorite part about crew is the pockets ability and how they have the automation for savings. They recently made this new autopilot feature and it’s great. The only downside, if I had to point something “negative” out, would be my direct deposit only posts the day of my check. (Unlike most other banks).
