Almost an Alternative
I’ve been using Letterboxd for a couple years now and love it. But it’s got a ton of woke users and administration. This alternative is a great idea and can’t wait to fill it out and make new friends. However, there’s a lot missing that makes the experience on Letterboxd a great deal of fun. Its search engine is better, keyboard allows bold and italics functions; and above all, LB’s Top 4 movies feature. A complaint on LB is that it isn’t a Top 5. So, Criticless, please add the Top 4 or 5 feature for our profiles! Use LB a little more to incorporate some of its strengths. To keep from being as lame as Goodreads. Thankfully, yall said in a recent live stream that updates are coming in phases. Can’t wait and best of luck. See yall on there.

Better Than Letterbox
The community, the groups, the reviews, the engagements! This app is great to open after viewing any show or movie and putting your no bull review on here and having great engagements on it.
It’s kind of a cult
Full of weirdos and gatekeepers. Pretty sure the heads of the place can see in your private groups, and it’s always the same 20 people. A couple of them are nice but the owners really only care about paid users.

I am digging it. I love the synthwave vibe to begin with, but a chill place to drop reviews and the rating system is nice. First glance can see if it is something up your alley as far as violence, language, nudity, and even political bias (good for both “sides” of the aisle to know what they are getting into).

Definitely like the ability to rate different aspects of the movie, there are tons of great groups so that you can find communities for your interests and you can make lists to rank and keep track of collections of movies.

A great platform for reviewing media but also a fun place to connect with other movie and tv fans. Honestly it’s more than just a review site it’s a great community and what a social media platform should be.

This app is just a mess design wise. Never had any functional issues but it just feel Micheal j fox walked in and visited the 80’s everywhere. Every developer should have some sort of understanding on ui/ux design.

My favorite app of 2023
Criticless is my new “one stop shop” for all things film related. I love the concept, the user experience and the awesome community they are building. Criticless replaced 3 platforms I would have to go to separately for various film review, feedback, social purposes.

It’s super fun. I’ve never really spent a lot of time on movie review apps, but this has a unique feel to it. The art is really cool as well.
