About

Crossed Paths turns the photos already on your phone into a private map of everywhere you have been - then shows you who else has been standing in those same places. How it works The app reads only the date and GPS coordinates stored inside your photo files. It never opens or uploads your pictures - your photo library stays on your device. Places are compared as coarse map cells, never as your exact location. There are two ways to use it. WITH A FRIEND, BY INVITE CODE Send a code to a friend or partner and your two maps get compared. - Shared places - every spot the two of you have both stood in, pinned on one map - Near misses - the same place on different days, like "you missed Maya by two days" - Twin flame - the friend whose map overlaps yours the most - Group overlaps - see where a whole circle of friends has crossed over - On this day - what you were doing on this date in past years - World map poster - a shareable picture of your travels, ready to post WITH THE PEOPLE YOU ALMOST MET (18+) Route twins is the other half: cards for people whose photos land in the same places yours do. The stranger from your street, your festival, the park you both walk through. - Swipe right to wave, left to pass - and waves are silent, so nobody is ever told they were passed on - Wave at each other and it is a match, with a conversation that opens right inside the app - Every match shows the ground you already share: the places both your routes pass, on a map you can open pin by pin - Your card is yours - a name, and a photo, age and line about you whenever you feel like adding them - Unmatch at any time. It removes the match and the whole conversation for both of you, and nobody is notified - Report any card or message. Reports are reviewed, and a card that breaks the rules comes down - Not in the mood? Turn matching off and your card leaves the pool No live tracking, and never your exact location. Just the quiet thrill of finding out you were on the same block, the same summer, years before you ever said hello - and, now, the chance to say it. WHAT'S FREE AND WHAT'S PAID Free with a friend's invite code: - Every place you and that friend have both been - On this day memories from your own photos - Alerts when a friend joins or your shared places grow - Rescan your library any time Crossed Paths Pro, an auto-renewing subscription: - Your full personal map, with every pin, place and city - Twin flame, Near misses and Group overlaps - Route twins: the deck, who waved at you, your matches and chat - Your shareable world map poster - Your own invite code, so you can bring friends in Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase. The subscription renews automatically unless auto-renew is turned off at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings. What's New in Crossed Paths

1.1.2

August 23, 2026

Route twins are here — the biggest update since launch. SWIPE, WAVE, MATCH A new Twins tab deals you cards for people whose photos land in the same places yours do. Swipe right to wave, left to pass. Wave at each other and it's a match. Waves are silent: nobody is ever told they were waved at or passed on. CHAT Every match opens a conversation inside the app — no handing over your Instagram or your number. Messages are grouped by day and stamped by our server, so the times read correctly in your own time zone wherever you both are. YOUR CARD You're already in the deck with the name you gave at setup. Add a photo, your age and a line about you whenever you feel like it, and frame the photo exactly how you want it to appear. THE MAP BEHIND EVERY MATCH A match now shows where your two routes actually overlap: the places you've both passed through, the most recent ones named, and a full map you can open. Tap any pin for the dates and how many photos you took there. Your precise places never leave your phone — and neither do theirs. SAFETY, BUILT IN - Unmatch removes the match and the entire conversation for both people, permanently, and the other person is never notified - Report a card or a single message — reporting also ends the match - Every report is reviewed by a human, and a card that breaks the rules comes down - Matching is 18+, and you can leave the pool at any time from the Twins settings ALSO IN THIS UPDATE - Remove a connection: press and hold a mate on the Connections tab - Matches and friends are now completely separate — a match never turns into a connection by itself, and nobody sees your map because you matched - A redesigned look for every menu, confirmation and action sheet - The deck loads faster and fetches new cards as you swipe - New splash artwork As always: we read only the date and location stored inside your photos. Your photo library stays on your phone — the one image that ever leaves is the card photo you choose yourself.
