Worst paid for streaming service I’ve ever used
The app had playback and connectivity issues from the get go. Tablet, phone, it didn’t matter. Mobile data or WiFi didn’t improve the situation. Tried on friends’ devices in Seattle and other cities to see if it was somehow a problem on my end, but the same issues arose at the same times during the day. When I contacted customer support, they took forever to respond. When I finally got a reply, the tech told me connectivity would be affected if I was using VPN. The thing is, I don’t use a vpn and never had. The tech failed to explain why I wasn’t able to use the service for which I paid. I asked coworkers if they had any issues with crunchyroll and every one of them that tried it said they quit after their first month. I’d give this review negative stars if it were possible. The company, selection, and customer service are a joke.

I love Crunchyroll but the app is so feisty!
Remove opening
No need for an annoying opening crunchyroll animation sequence. It annoying and wastes time and it loud. It needs to be removed.
Good app but some suggestions
I like this app and I’ve been using it for a while now with my friends. However, there are some stuff I’d suggest and want for improvement. 1. More anime options. There are many shows that I’d be excited to watch (especially so I can watch it on my tv) but they’re not on Crunchyroll and this is really frustrating considering this is an anime streaming platform, like some popular anime’s aren’t even on here and there are lots of random unknown shows instead. 2. The English Dub option. Sometimes when I’m watching an anime there is no English dub option which is a little annoying especially when the dub for a specific show is great 3. Marking some episodes as filler so fans can skip. Some older anime’s have loads of filler. And I mean LOADS. For example, I was watching Naruto shippuden and anyone who’s watched any of the big three know that they have lots of filler episodes. It was a hassle searching up what episodes to skip so I could smoothly watch the canon story. Giving viewers the option to see what episodes are filler and which are not is really convenient and can make watching go more smoothly. Anyways apart from that, it’s a great app and I really enjoy using it to watch my shows!!

Whichever morons made the app only accessible to ios17 played themselves. I cancelled my subscription. If you’re going to make older devices obsolete, prepare to loss more money 👍
Why do I need premium to watch everything
I want to re-download the app and watch KonoSuba and the episodes that I already watched. Said I couldn’t watch it because it hadn’t released in Japan yet. Even though I already watched it and then I went to check out 30 different animes, and they all said I need premium to watch.

Nonsense

Download
Try to download to watch online. It can only download for 3 episodes. Then it become stupid and cannot download. Download halfway and then failed. But then it doesn’t tell why or what error is it.

Crunchyroll media player
The Crunchyroll media player is very buggy. Crunchyroll is too big to have bugs that are so simple to fix. The slide to select scene viewer at the bottom of the screen when playing only works 25% of the time, all of the subtitles don’t match the language at all and constantly use completely wrong words (which has been getting better) and it constantly freezes. The anime selection is great but the site/app is horrible and it shouldn’t freeze so much so that the app on firestick has to be restarted all the time. When you fast forward after a while it stops showing the thumbnails for where you’re choosing of fast forwarding or rewinding.

Work Harder
This review is specifically about the app. You do not have a good way of refreshing. You cannot even pull down like 90% of the apps out there! You have to close it and reopen. It also takes SOOOO much time to switch between shows because it tries TOO hard to recommend a different show. Give us option to turn that off!!!!!

No dub
They like to dub the first episode but the rest will will be in Japanese. It’s sad that one of the biggest anime streaming apps has so much less audio options when they already exist. I’ve found this issue with multiple shows
