Local news

Not enough news from Naugatuck. More obituaries of residents from Naugatuck.

Needs more local news…

Just wish there were more articles about local news as well as high school sports. Interesting stuff going on that should be followed.

Everything behind a paywall

Pointless. Everything is behind a paywall. Have not been able to open and read a single article in weeks. I’m not saying media isn’t worth paying for. I’m saying this is why far right media outlets are reaching more people. Figure out a business model that works, most people can’t do another subscription right now, and I’m one of them.

Horrible App

This app is terrible, it freezes every time I am using it. Can’t scroll without it freezing. Absolutely terrible.

Someone please design a better app

Local stories from weeks ago..STILL on the front page. Newest stories never the forefront. No sort/filter options past the search bar. These clowns don’t actively use the app they charge users for, not to mention give them the latest stories never

E newspaper

No way to get e-newspaper. Basic content very poor. Local news non existant.

Unable to use

Despite repeated calls and emails, the app does not allow mean to use. It tells me I have successfully signed in. Let’s me read article, then next article says they recognize my account but it has expired. I can read on the website; but I’m done. Lousy transition from Rep American to Hearst

CTInsider App doesn’t work

I can log into CTInsider using web browsers, but not the app. Called for assistance and they have no idea about the app. I’m an engineer who is very knowledgeable about computers and the iPhone, their technical support can only provide basic log in assistance. They will email you links, but that only opens the web browser which works. Obviously the app has issues. Don’t waste your time calling for help.

Local?

I moved out of state yet like to keep up with news from “back home”. When I sadly learned the Republican American had sold I thought I would give CT insider a try. Where are the LOCAL obituaries that the Republican American newspaper covered? If a former co-worker or acquaintance passed l have no way of knowing.

Unorganized Mess

There are no options to sort stories, leaving you to search for recent local stories that sometimes don’t even show up on their search results at all. What a headache!

Thoughts on content

Please stop sending notifications about sports - I have zero interest / the rest of the paper’s actual news articles are interesting but would appreciate more follow up on stories like Nuvance threatening legislators with bankruptcy and the appalling 70% student performance below grade level in Danbury - heads should roll on that one
love a bit more on the arts , music, film, theater , exhibits etc

I can read the news

It's not a perfect app, but it doesn't crash and it allows me to the read the news. It does precisely what I need it to do.

Last weeks stories, today

App takes too long updating its stories, searching up articles released days ago doesn't work, simply doesn’t update frequently enough

Outstanding reporting and newspaper

My wife and I live in Tennessee, but are huge supporters and donors of UConn women’s basketball. We also have season tickets. The ct insider provides us with up to date information, great articles not only on UConn , but on Connecticut. We thoroughly enjoy the read and appreciate the real information they provide. Ty

The Absolute Worst

I have been trying to cancel my subscription to this for a week now. I was contacted once saying they would but then they want a reason as to why I want to cancel? It’s my money I should be able to cancel whenever and who cares the reason. Now no one will respond to my emails and it still has not been cancelled. What a scam! Never subscribe!

Poor

The app keeps telling me that the address is incorrect and won’t do anything.

Poor Technology- Better than nothing?

I am a reluctant subscriber to the Hearst Publications because of their local news coverage and committed journalists.

The technology used by CTI is dated, inefficient and clumsy. When I move from a link in the email sent with the day’s headlines I am required to re-log into the app, which causes me to loose my link to the article???? My ability to find the facsimile front page of the CT Post is random. The local feed of news stories invariably combines stories from New Fairfield and Fairfield.

My intro price went from $1.00 a month to $28 a month without notice. When I tried to investigate there was no on line option and the call center hours were 8:00-3:00 Monday to Friday.

Better than nothing I guess.
