About

Cyber Games is a puzzle game built out of the vocabulary of IT work. Fifteen professional fields. Ten puzzle games in each. Fifty levels in every pairing, which is 7,500 puzzles in all, and every one of them is built from the real terms of its field: routing protocols, cipher names, cloud services, model architectures, GDPR clauses, incident response jargon. Play it as a word game and it stands up as one. Play it in your own field and you are revising at the same time. WHAT YOU LEARN Every term you solve tells you what it is. Crossword and Mini clue each entry, Grep and Brute Force define every word, Hexdump explains every term you spell, and Acronym Attack teaches the expansion. You finish a puzzle knowing something you did not know when you started it. THE FIELDS Networking. Cybersecurity. Risk and Compliance. Software Development. AI and Machine Learning. Cloud Computing. DevOps and SRE. Databases and Data Engineering. DFIR. IT Support and SysAdmin. IoT and Embedded. Cryptography. UI/UX Design. Blockchain. Privacy and Data Protection. THE GAMES Passcode: crack the 5-letter term in 6 tries Crossword: the classic, themed to your field Mini: a 5x5 crossword in a coffee break Hexdump: spell terms from 7 letters Traceroute: trace hidden terms through the grid Subnets: group 16 terms into 4 networks Decrypt: break the substitution cipher Grep: find the strings in the noise Brute Force: guess the term letter by letter Acronym Attack: expand the alphabet soup TODAY Six puzzles a day, one per game, the same six for everybody. Clear all six for a perfect day. The streak counts consecutive days and resets when you miss one. That is the whole mechanic, and there is no way to buy it back. PROGRESS Levels unlock as you solve them. Losing a level costs nothing but the time; the ladder only moves forward on a win. Stars, median solve time, a solve calendar and per-field charts live on the Stats screen. WORTH KNOWING Free, and free of ads. No in-app purchases. No third-party analytics, no trackers, no advertising identifiers. None are built in. Plays fully offline. Puzzles you finish while offline sync the next time you are on. Signing in is optional. The whole game works signed out; sign in only if you want progress to follow you to another device. Dark by default, light if you prefer it. cybergames.neeraj.ca

What's New in Cybergames

1.0.1

Now on iPad, and on Android tablets. The app rotates freely and the layout is sized for a bigger screen. Badges. Forty-seven of them on the Stats tab, earned on your device whether or not you are signed in. Signing in keeps them if you switch phones. Hexdump now shows how many terms are still to find at each word length. A board you are stuck on will tell you what shape to look for, without giving away a single letter. Brute Force spends its first hint on a fuller definition instead of a revealed letter. Take a second hint and the letters start, exactly as before. Traceroute now says when a word you traced is a bonus term rather than one of the eight you are hunting. Fresh Cybersecurity puzzles with a wider vocabulary and far fewer repeated words.
