One of my favorites
I got this app when it first came out, and it was one of the best app purchase I’ve made. I keep track of everything, love the customization, and can sync all my devices.

Very useful but cannot export data
I love this app for its flexibility in tracking a range of metrics and the ability to review the history months or years later. The graphs are great.
However, I now have years of data that I cannot export because Google will not authorize sign in to allow data to be exported to spreadsheets. Subscription continues to work, but that is not paying for ongoing development.
Unless they resume development, I strongly recommend looking at other options first.

Broken Promises
When they switched to a subscription model years ago, Lumen Trails promised its old clients that they wouldn't have to pay the subscription because they purchased the full version. My version of the app wouldn’t let me Restore Purchase. The customer service agent said there's nothing they can do; I'd have to join new users as a subscriber. I said no to that, obviously. Proof of my purchase of the full version was found and acknowledged. Still no help.
I kept contacting customer service over time, trying to find a solution. The girl I corresponded with who worked there responded to my understandable distress by being nasty and hateful to the point that I couldn’t use the app. My data all got deleted.
I was one of your first users. I bought the full version. I bragged about your app, supported you, and your customer service girl treated me like trash. Shame on you for treating your customers like that. You Never made it right. You are the great story of failure of the App Store when it comes to treating your customers with fairness, professionalism, honesty, and decency

Helpful and simple
With so many apps these days, promising something and then navigating them is complex This app is a simple and very helpful way to track everything in your life with the bonus of being able to see a chart of time passed. I highly recommend it!

Update-Love the app, but sure do wish there was an Android version so I could keep all synced on both my iPhone and Android phones.

PS--for those complaining about their "free" version having limited capability...what did you expect? If you tried it and you liked it, PAY for it to help the developers keep it going and improving. They don't live and work just to serve you, but that's a philosophical discussion I don't have time for with those who complain that they got more than what they paid for, but not everything for nothing.

No after sales service. No export
Google has now blocked Lumen Trails Daily Tracker and the backup function does not work anymore as there is no way to connect to another service than Google. In my Google account there is no way to unblock Daily Tracker.
The Lumen Trails support is extremely poor as it keeps saying my subscription is linked to Apple. As said above the problem is a function of Daily Tracker that does not work anymore. One should now avoid this amazing app as there is no further development, no alternative for backing up and no help from the support service which does not respond. Worse, if the app happen to be not working with the next OS, your data is stuck. No export possible. I have got more than 10 years of all sorts of info. I start to worry a lot as the app seems not to be developed anymore. Nevertheless, the app is not free and the charges seem to be doing well for the developper and the App Store. Come on!

Muy útil aplicación. Pero no sincroniza bien con Google Drive.
No back up in 2025
I absolutely loved the program v11 and still use it; however, all back up features are now disabled. Don’t use it.
Subscription required to even see it
Why bother presenting it as a free app if there’s no way to see the app without subscribing? I see there’s a free trial but that’s not the same thing as letting me see it before asking for $49.99. Disappointed

Most useful app ever
There isn't an app that I use more than this one. You won't have"buyers remorse" over this one in my opinion. Thanks to Lumen Trails to a very useful app.

Reducing my rating to 4 stars because backup to Google Drive no longer works as Google considers it unsafe. I have 2FA on. So it appears the app is not being maintained as technology evolves, even though they charge a subscription fee.

Journal, habit tracker, goal tracking, project manager....
Update 3: 6/3/25 Yep. Still love it. How easy is it to start a journal and save oil change and tires rotated today, mileage x,xxx. Or changed HVAC filter 6/3/25, and when you want to see your history of oil changes just search from the main page. Or you could make trackers for car, home, etc maintenance and set recurring alerts, the possibilities are nearly limitless. Add in the numerical tracking and easy visual graphing and it’s that much better. I sound like a commercial but no one asked me for this and I pay for it annually, just letting you know.
Update 2: 12/7/2017 Still loving app. And still finding new ways to use it. Over and over I’ll find myself using a special purpose app and realize - I can do this in Lumen. A great way to simplify life. I’ve also learned to move anything I’m not using into an archive file. It’s almost a sure thing that I’ll think of something again later that I want to track, focus on etc and it’s nice to just pull it back into my daily workflow out my archive file.
Update : still loving Lumen Trails. Been using for years and is the among the very best money I spend at $9.99/yr.
** Do like the ideas iamlmg7 has and would love to see them. Simple is good, but a little customization like background colors and ability to highlight certain lists would be awesome and while I haven’t deleted any info by accident yet, it would be too easy to do so. So maybe a lock feature, or at least a trash bin from which data could be recovered if deleted accidentally.
From a daily journal - with pics, voice memos, location - anything combo you want to add - to a simple grocery list - this thing is super powerful, and unbelievably simple at the same time - just buy, play with it, check out the screen shots on all the different editions for ideas. Create folders - personal, work, etc. inside create a folder for each project you have - then a check list or list we colored bubbles with each action item needed. Make a folder for habits - then yes/no, number value (with or without additive and/or cumulative properties), general number or dollars, to track habits - or anything. Charting makes easy to see trends. Can search for anything and stays perfectly synced between iPhone and iPad. So many uses, it really is like 10 apps on one ! Buy it ! You will be glad !

Filthy ransomware! Do not download.
After purchasing this app - it wasn’t cheap, the latest updates make you pay again and again for something you have already paid for via a subscription /ransomware model. There are no meaningful updates to justify ‘ongoing development costs’. If you value access to your data, chose a different app developer who won’t ransom it.
To make matters worse, you can now no longer back up your data to Google drive. When a backup is attempted, Google now gives the response: “This app is blocked. This app tried to access sensitive info in your Google Account. To keep your account safe, Google blocked this access.” When contacted, the developers do not offer any viable solutions. There have been no updates to the app for years, so its security is probably way out of date.
