About
Write a letter today and choose the day it opens. Until that day nobody can read it — not the recipient, not even us. Your letter lives on paper, in your hands, not on our servers.
HOW IT WORKS
• Write your letter and pick the date it opens.
• It is encrypted on your device. Part of the key is locked to that date through drand, a public randomness network — so the date cannot be faked, skipped or bribed.
• Print an origami envelope that carries your words as QR codes. Fold it, hand it over, or leave it in a drawer.
• On the chosen day the lock opens with the code printed on the paper.
WE CANNOT OPEN IT EITHER
Your letter never reaches us. Encryption happens on your device and the paper stays with you. There is no copy on our servers — so there is nothing we could hand over, lose or leak. This is not a privacy policy; there is simply nothing we could do.
That paper is the only copy. Lose it and no one can bring it back, because a second copy never existed. That is exactly why the lock is real.
NO ACCOUNT, NO E-MAIL, NO AD TRACKING
daktilo has no sign-up, no inbox, no profile. Nothing to delete later, because nothing was collected.
PROOF THAT IT WAS NOT CHANGED
Each letter's fingerprint is anchored to the Polygon blockchain, so the sealing date and the exact contents can be verified independently — even without us. A verified author stamp, secured with Sign in with Apple, is sealed inside the encryption, so nobody can write a letter in your name.
WHO WRITES ONE
• To a child being born — to open at eighteen.
• To yourself, ten years from now.
• To a partner, for an anniversary.
• To a student, for graduation.
No exceptions: your letter never leaves your device under any circumstance.
The capsule format is an open specification. Companies close; mathematics does not.
