Darkroom: Photo & Video Editor

This update introduces four major improvements to Darkroom, enhancing the workflow, design, precision and range of our tools: 1. Bringing our Liquid Glass design update from iPhone to Mac and iPad 2. Revamping our white balance tools to make them more accurate and useful, including a new Auto Balance feature 3. Introducing an entirely new Curves tool, with unconstrained adjustments and new HSL curves 4. Adding a new photo strip in preview mode, including our Flag and Reject workflow features, making them much more accessible and efficient The iPhone was recently given a fresh coat of paint, adopting the latest design guidelines for Liquid Glass. This update brings that same fresh coat of paint to Mac and iPad, ensuring that the app feels at home on the latest versions of iPadOS and macOS. The new Curves tool includes two major updates: 1. Unrestrained point adjustments. By default, points along the curve are fixed to their track as before, but you can now drag horizontally to unsnap points and adjust the curve with greater freedom. Points on the curve also float unless you adjust them manually. This makes it much easier to create natural, smooth curves with greater creative freedom. 2. We have added several new curves, including Saturation vs Saturation, Hue vs Saturation and Luminance vs Saturation. These allow you to add a new dimension to your adjustments. This is particularly powerful for those who enjoy creating presets, as you now have a much richer set of tools for recreating film effects or creating more interesting looks that were not previously possible in Darkroom. The new White Balance tool adds a colour picker and an Auto mode, making it easier to correct incorrect white balance in your photos. Temperature and Tint have also been updated to provide a wider range of adjustments for correcting badly exposed images. This is particularly helpful for RAW photos, where it can be easier to capture an image with an incorrect white balance setting. Finally, the new photo strip in the iPhone layout will feel familiar, given its similarity to the one in the Photos app. It makes navigating your library while previewing images much more lightweight, and allows us to move the Flag and Reject actions to a more prominent position, making them easier to find and tap.
