Knitter’s Best Friend

I’ve been using this app since it was first released. Before then, it was a pain in the hank to keep track of what needles I own.🫤
It is well organized, comprehensive, easy to use, and has saved me more than once from buying duplicates. (= cash for more yarn!)
Thanks DKA!

Love where you’re going with this and have suggestions!

This app is very handy and I am starting to get all my needles documented. I have an unfortunate habit of bending sock needles that aren’t Chiaogoo Red Lace fixed circulars but I also like knitting multiple sock patterns at overlapping times-I love that I can track which project my needles are in so I know what other sock needles are available before I pick up a couple spares next time. I would love to see some improvements, I don’t expect any of these but thought the feedback may be helpful if you’re working on updates. -options for marking needles and cables in metric or imperial (I have some European Addi needles that are not quite the exact measurements of the US versions in length of cables) -ability to set either an “other” cable length or some additional length options for a little more flexibility, right now I am just making notes after adding it to the closest available length -more options for lengths of needle tips, specifically for “short” tips like the Addi Lace/Short Rocket set which are 3.5” and the closest options are 3” or 4” -drop down selection for common brands or at least those carried by Darn Knit Anyway (Chiaogoo, Addi, Knitters Pride are currently the brands in their online shop) and an “other” option for free text -an option to add an interchangeable set that pulls in the included needle tips and cables automatically (but will also allow you to delete them later if they are lost or unusable), again this could be just the sets Darn Knit Anyway carries but would be so much quicker than logging each interchangeable tip set and cable option for those individually -filters that I can update to see only the needle brand, length, availability status as needed to cut down scrolling if I am in a hurry at a shop -sync to my Darn Knit Anyway shop user account and/or iCloud would be very helpful as a backup -if it were hosted on my Darn Knit Anyway user account, the ability upload to import needles or update existing needles in bulk through a .CSV would be amazing (my data nerd habits revealed!) and then Darn Knit Anyway could potentially have the visibility in store to check against the user account records (for someone who didn’t bring their iPad as an example) if desired -with the user account page idea, the option to purchase needles from Darn Knit Anyway and have them apply to your needle inventory through an email notification “would you like to save this to your needle inventory?” Yes/No would be very handy and potentially drive more needle sales through Darn Knit Anyway in the long run, especially if the needle shopping option (or entire online shopping at DKA) was somehow integrated into the app

Great app!

Quick and easy to use! Very helpful, especially since I decided to start collecting interchangeable needles and cables.

Holy Needle Inventory Tool!

This. This. This.
Genius, I tell you!
I can’t wait to finally have a needle inventory in my pocket, rather that a picture of my Excel spreadsheet that is so out of date it’s worthless.
Thank you, thank you, thank you!
