What's New in Datapad | Aurebesh Translator

4.0.1

July 8, 2026

Datapad 4.0.0: THE OPTICAL AGE The biggest upgrade yet. Decode, attune, and transmit like never before. OPTICAL SCANNER Point your camera at Aurebesh, Mando'a, or Outer Rim glyphs and Datapad reads them back to English, instantly, on-device, and fully offline. Script and font are detected automatically. Scan live or upload a holo from your library. KYBER CRYSTALS Attune your Datapad to a crystal to recolor the whole app, or forge your own. Hunt down hidden crystals, including the unstable Black Crystal and the spectrum-shifting RGB Crystal, each with its own animation and activation burst. A LIVING INTERFACE A jump-to-lightspeed hyperspace launch, a holographic navigation menu with a live galactic clock, and a refined Liquid Glass design across iOS, macOS, and watchOS 26. GALACTIC CHRONO New widgets and complications tell the time in your chosen script, on your Home Screen, Lock Screen, and wrist. PLUS Holo Records and Holo Entries in Archives, Trials challenges, an expanded script database with full digraph support, a refined Apple Watch app, consistent text sizing, and countless fixes and polish. The galaxy is now yours to decode.

Great app

This app is really good but there is one thing that i would like to see in the future, and that is on the keyboard if there i could do slide typing word predictions and potentially the feature where if you press and hold on the space bar it lets you move where you are typing. But apart from that this app is great

Awesome app, one idea that would make it 5 stars

When you are in the data pad looking at the letters and names for the letters, you can click on them to enlarge them. I think you should be able to scroll through the letters while the letters are enlarged.

Response from developer

Edit: Update is live on 3.6.7 with your suggestion added! Thanks so much for the suggestion! I’m really glad you explored the Datapad letter view and took the time to share this idea. You’re absolutely right, being able to scroll through the letters while they’re enlarged would make browsing much smoother. I’m happy to say that because of you, this suggestion will be added in an upcoming update by next week, so keep an eye out for it! As always, feel free to reach out if you have any other ideas or feedback at ammelmallah@icloud.com. Thanks again, have a great day! Warm regards, Abubakr Elmallah

Perfect to help with my friends for our sessions

This has been an amazing app to help learn the languages and characters used in the Star Wars Galaxy. The only thing that’s kept me from giving a full 5 is that there isn’t an option to learn the Sith language and script. Besides that this is the perfect app for fans of the Star Wars franchise.

Response from developer

Hello there Incydious (W name), I’m glad you’re enjoying this app! That really warms my heart! As for your suggestion, I did have a legends version of Sith Script which I unfortunately removed from the app because it is legends and not canon, and instead replaced it with the canon Old Tongue which is the script of the Sith! However, because of your review, I have decided to add back Legends Sith Script!! It is being updated and published to the App Store, though you may have to wait a couple of days to see the update (3.6.4). I hope that fixes your issue with this app and it becomes perfect for you! However, if it doesn’t, you can always, ALWAYS reach out to me at ammelmallah@icloud.com for any questions, feedback, or suggestions! Have a great day! Warm regards, Abubakr Elmallah
