Constantly deleting and downloading
Once a week I have to delete the app and redownload it because the connection is “invalidated”…what’s the point of having the app if I constantly have to do this?

Desktop app keeps crashing on Mac’s - doesn’t like user working between 2 devices, other random problems
Works when I works!
Works when you first login on your phone. Will never connect again. Keeps saying to many devices. Only devices are my computer and my phone. Everytime I login on my phone I have to set up my two factor. Works great on laptop.
Getting better
UPDATED REVIEW. It’s getting better. One feature I think it’s missing is when scanning a document, there is no option to crop the scan. Please include this in the next update.
Terrible App
There is no way in h*** this app has ever been as highly rated as it shows up. I can only conclude that reviews have been faked. The app is entirely nonfunctional; when I *do* get it to open it regularly spends time re-verifying EVERY SINGLE FILE IN THE ENTIRE DATABASE
This happens every other time I use it; support is nonexistent. The app is trash, plain and simple. Whatever team put this abomination of code together should never be allowed to touch a computer ever again. Trash work from an increasingly buggy, slow, and all around poor service.

Good but too slow
It’s too slow.
Slow and clunky.
This app has been the same since the day I starting using it over 4 years ago. I don’t have a choice as it is required by my employer. It is very slow and many many times larger files just stall and don’t sync, download or open. I’m sure my employer pays a lot of money for 100+ employees to use it. Just a horrible experience on mobile devices.

Rubbish
Multiple issues. I’ve tried to tell Datto of the problems and they ignore and don’t acknowledge the problems.
1. Scribble is broken
2. Full document names not shown only say 15 characters then it shows ….. we deal with architectural drawings that have lengthy drawing names. On site, I can’t find any specific drawings. Datto confirm they will NOT update this. Ridiculous
3. On IPAD or IPHONE, the UI colours are wrong and you can’t see the text, only if you switch to dark mode the text is highlight. i.e the SAVE button after making a change….pretty important button to find.
4. Generally need a better UI on the app. Too hard going in and out. Settings is too hard to access when deep into the folders.
I’m on the verge of getting our company to switch to SharePoint or BOX
It’s good software and the integration into windows has been great, however some of these problems make the app totally unusable.

Upset
Save as window still not fixed… cannot see top line with save option. Still cannot annotate or add text to a photo… Not good enough
Issue with opening PDFs
A good app…..but I seem to be unable to open any PDFs…..seems to be fine with most other file types

Scribble is busted!
This was the number one feature I used this app for. I even bought an iPad Pro to be able to use it with Apple Pencil. Now it is gone and markup does not work! Useless!
Update: The scribble function is back but is totally busted. The problems I am having are:
1. When writing on a document with Scribble using an Apple Pencil it is registering the side of my hand as a pencil touch and consequently I get a line across my page. This never used to happen with the old scribble.
2. Every few seconds I get a pop-up saying “Failed Saving PDF”.
3. Every few minutes the app crashes completely.
4. The functionality of the scribble function has been reduced.
This is a major issue for me. This feature is massively important for me and right now it is not usable.
On a side note, a great new feature would be: if you are creating a Scribble from a blank page, it would be great to be able to create additional pages. I sometimes use Scribble to take notes and it is frustrating if I use up a whole page to have to start a new file.

Well done Datto….. take away the one feature that separates it from Dropbox and the like by messing with the Scribble feature. Where is the text feature to add text to a markup? Why remove just that? More to the point why take the feature out and force users to have another app to edit only to have to save it back to sync it? Hardly an efficient way to work.

PDF viewing
Cannot view pdf documents at all. Makes the app useless for me.

Apps not bad. It gets the job done. However, it won’t open pdf’s anymore. No idea why.

There’s a lot of slamming going on here and I feel like we need a little balance.
The app works smoothly and connects well as of this 4.0 release. The aesthetic has also been refined and is nicer to use as a result.

Garbage!!!
Datto has taken this product from bad to worse! The app is buggy, clunky and the UI is God awful. Ever since the original CEO/Founded of Datto stepped down the whole company has gone in the toilet. Don’t waste your time with this worthless app.
