I might have a new favorite DAW.
I try a lot of DAWs. Call it an endless pursuit of perfection, though it’s more like a fools errand. Some are practical. Some are complicated. Some are convoluted. This one is…. Fun. It’s fun to work in dawcade. The sound modules are simple, but offer a lot of range, and the sketch sequencer makes track writing completely non linear which is exactly what my adhd brain loves. I was able to wrap my head around the workflow in about 15 minutes, which is a plus. Honestly, I freaking love it.

Unintuitive without a manual;tutorial inadequate
The positives: very attractive ui; plenty of instruments and fx. A number of loops.
The negatives: very unintuitive. The lack of a manual makes this very hard to navigate and the tutorial doesn’t even cover how to delete a channel. Midi editing is a nightmare as it’s not documented and simple gestures don’t work how you’d expect them.
