Recordings can be transcribed on your device using Apple's built-in speech recognition. Nothing is sent off device. Transcription is off until you turn it on in Settings. Find any recording by searching its transcript, and browse every transcript in one place. *transcription requires iOS 26 Sort recordings into color groups, and edit or delete groups on the new Groups screen. Recordings, transcripts, and groups sync across your iPhones and iPads signed in to the same iCloud account. Start recording immediately using the new widget that can be added to Control Center and the Lock Screen. You can also start recording using Siri by saying "Start recording in Recorder". Recordings are now listed by day with pinned date headers.
