Read below for changes in version 1.2, tips to help you get the most out of DC Wire Sizer, and what enhancements are in the pipeline. VERSION CHANGES IN 1.2: - Dark Mode, looks so awesome that we had to update light mode too. - Doubled Wire Length to 600 feet Round Trip (or 300 feet One-Way). - Minor Bug Fixes. - Updates for iOS 13. DC WIRE SIZER TIP #1: DC Wire Sizer has 3 methods of wire length entry (One-Way, Total Run and Positive/Negative). Choose the wire length entry method that works fastest for you and/or your project by: 1) Double Tap the wire length field while entering a length. 2) Tap the “Menu” button (top left corner) to “Toggle Measurement Method”. 3) Or if f you have a preferred method, change the default method in “Settings” by Tapping the “Menu” button, then Tapping "Settings” and selecting the “Sizer Pro: How Length is Entered” method that matches your preference. Note: for clarity, the Sizer Wizard only uses the “Pos (+) Neg (-)” wire length measurement method. DC WIRE SIZER TIP #2: DC Wire Sizer was developed to be fast and choosing the method of wire length entry (double tape the wire length field) can expedites the entry, we recommend: When using duplex cables, where the “Pos (+) Neg (-)” wire lengths are equal, the “One-way” method is the fastest length entry. Note, the length is auto-doubled in the calculation for positive plus negative wire lengths. 2) When the negative wire is a different length or contact grounded (CG) to the chassis, negative bus bar, or engine (AKA starter or alternator), use the “Pos (+) Neg (-)” wire length measurement method. Note: ensure the bus bar or engine has adequate wire size for the total of all concurrent amp loads. 3) If you are used to using “Total length” (AKA positive plus negative wire lengths), use the “Round Trip” method. WHAT ENHANCEMENTS ARE IN THE PIPELINE: DC Wire Sizer 1.3, with the Australian/New Zealand (AS/NZS) marine standard, starts beta testing after this year’s AU/NZ standard release. DC Wire Sizer 2.0, is in development and will have the following new features and enhancements: 1) Increasing amps from 500 to 1,000, 2) Multi-conductor option (updated from our commercial beta), 3) Fuse/circuit breaker sizing (updated from our commercial beta), 4) “Non-Marine” standard options for solar, RVs, cars, trucks, and other DC usages. Since 2013, we have implemented 100% of our customer enhancement requests. In 2.0 and 3.0, we are adding several significant features requested by professionals and industry experts.
