About
DCT (Die Configuration Tool) is the native macOS, iPad, and iPhone companion to United Die Company's web-based die design tool. It lets die engineers and customers configure extrusion and drawing die geometry and instantly see a precise, dimensioned 2D cross-section.
Enter your incoming and finish sizes and adjust the die parameters — bell radius, approach extension, approach angle, blend radius, bearing, and back relief — and DCT renders the die profile in real time, with the proprietary geometry and nib-assist calculations handled by United Die Company's servers.
Key features:
Live 2D die cross-section that updates as you change parameters, with pan and zoom.
Nib Assist: see the minimum nib, current vs. required nib height, maximum hole, nib OD, and percent area reduction — with at-a-glance warnings when a configuration falls below minimum.
Full dimension readout: nib height, bearing, blend height, approach height, stock height, and OD, with one-tap copy.
Export DXF: generate a layered CAD drawing of the die profile with true arcs, ready to open in any CAD package.
Design Library: save, search, and reload your die designs, synced privately across your devices via iCloud.
Save and load design files that are fully interchangeable with the DCT web app.
Print a clean, dimensioned one-page report with a print-optimized color scheme.
Service status at a glance, with optional email alerts if DCT cloud services ever have an outage.
Built-in illustrated user guide, plus preferences for color themes, per-line styling, and display options.
DCT requires a valid United Die Company license to use. Current United Die Company customers can request a license, and prospective customers can request a free 30-day trial, at https://ttiz9lk6.paperform.co. For licensing questions, contact dct@udico.co.
