Works well

Gets rid of those hideous thumbnails.

No longer works

DeArrow no longer works in Safari for iOS. Clickbait thumbnails appear regardless of extension being on or off, even with all other extensions disabled. Can’t recommend.

Wouldn’t want to miss it

DeArrow and Sponsorblock made me switch from the Youtube App to exclusively using Youtube in Safari with these two Apps.

When it works, it works but not lately

So this app has been getting worse and worse lately over the past few months, even after updating my app, it is becoming increasingly harder to use with my personal settings of having a button to toggle the updated video titles over the clickbait ones.

I will press multiple times, and the text will not show. It just opens up the description for the video instead and doesn’t allow me to see the non clickbait title.

Works as it should

It makes YouTube better, and it’s nice to contribute towards making the platform more tolerable and less inflammatory.

Fantastic App

This is such a useful tool. I watch a lot of YouTube and I get sick of all of the clickbait and want to stop doomscrolling - this definitely helps.

A suggestion for an added featured (not sure if it’s possible) would be to remove all YouTube Shorts, as YouTube is really pushing those now.

Not perfect, but pretty good!

Great, but not perfect for all videos. I.e., "Why I no longer [x]" titles typically stay the same, but are still clickbaity. Would be nice to integrate some basic AI rewriting to make all titles third person (as opposed to first/second) and just summarize the core argument of the video, perhaps based on transcripts. Would happily pay more for that!

Response from developer

We actually are trying to make titles in first person, or passive voice. Trying to stay with the YouTube format

Well, look at you go!

Well, look at you go!

godlike extension

i dont know how i lived before this! No clickbaint, clean interface, no cringe bloger faces and etc. THANK YOU!!

[no longer] Slow/buggy on Safari

Leaving the original review below but updating to 5 stars because it is now loading thumbnails correctly on Safari on my setup.

First of all, this plugin is a godsend for anyone tired of clickbaity content on YouTube. I use this plugin on every browser I have on my Mac (Firefox, Arc, Safari). I mainly use Safari but have come to notice that the plugin works flawlessly and very quickly on both Firefox and Arc, but it is not ideal on Safari. I imagine it has something to do with Webkit vs Gecko and/or Blink development stuff but I do wish it performed better on Safari.
Currently, I have to enter Youtube once to load the page (where only the top row of videos will show generated thumbnails), then refresh the page to make all the other videos generate thumbnails (which sometimes changes the videos recommended as well on the home page). Then if I doom scroll far enough to get more videos to pop-up I have to refresh again for those thumbnails too (which is pointless since it puts you back to the top of the home page with new recommendations).
It's still worth paying for the support but man, not ideal.

Great app to help clean up YouTube

Makes YouTube videos way less stimulating, and I like that you can submit titles here (would love if SponsorBlock could do this on mobile).

One feature request I would like to see is the ability to automatically remove channel names and series names from the title of the video

good

Everything is great, execpt the thumbnail generation service. This function make the youtube experience horrible, take soooo long to load youtube page, after change to never, everything are snappy now.

Непонятно.

Непонятно пока ничего, но поживём, увидим.

Get rid of face fatigue.

They should just call this app the Beast Face Scrub extension. Getting that guys face out of my face is practically worth the cost of this app.

I want to love it but

Causes constant tab freezes and crashes, sometimes even takes the whole browser down with it, great idea but poor execution

Response from developer

Version 1.4 should improve performance using a different fallback mechanism

No more face fatigue.

You know what I’m talking about. Scrolling through YouTube and having to see beasts face in 1,000 variations and every single one of them over exaggerated and full of fake emotion.

Now you can actually browse YouTube more like it’s a video library and less like a circus freak show. I never imagined I’d pay for an app to change how I perceive something but wow. It really is like lifting a weight off your shoulders when you realize how fatiguing it can be doing something so simple as scrolling through a list of videos!

Great Extension!

This app, created by the same developer behind Sponsor Block (which I highly recommend), complements it perfectly, forming a suite of apps aimed at transforming us from passive consumers into empowered participants. While the app is relatively new and lacks an extensive collection of thumbnails and titles (although it does offer an option to randomly select a screen cap to replace the thumbnail), it holds immense promise. Much like Sponsor Block, which boasts a vast database and a dedicated community, this app seems poised for a similar future. With a one-time payment of $2 and the substantial number of videos it de-clickbates, I believe this app offers significant value. Additionally, if the developer reads this review, I think it could be smart to implement some sort of AI language processing feature to read video transcripts and auto generate titles
