Thank you for using Decibels. This version fixes a bug that in some cases prevented the microphone from being activated when the app was reopened.

Beautiful Strip Chart Recorder

Record sound pressure level onto paper strips

User reviews

Needs a max reading metric

It’s not useful to me without recording the max volume. It only shows instantaneous volume.

It’s a fun little app

I like the old-school chart recorder thingy and the ability to use different weighting for the sound. Great for audio nerds

Quite good

Easy to use and analog meter is an effective method for this purpose.
However the strip recording is odd: nothing intuitive about this!
It seems you can’t stop it, and there is no way to show when the record was made. The top left and right labels are virtually unreadable (for SELECT and DONE), and I don’t see how to annotate them. Am I operating it incorrectly I wonder?
