Works but slooooow
Why does it take so long to open and connect? No other app on my phone is this slow.
Improvements
Could be improved if the main screen showed the currently selected AVR. Also a dropdown control to switch AVR would be nice.
App freezes up
The app freezes up and takes a long time to e to respond to commands.
Not intuitive
If I don’t use the app weekly it takes hours to remember how to manage the receiver and zones. It shouldn’t be this hard to control two zones.
Main and zone 2
These 2 zones used to be separate. Now they have to be the same. Why have a zone for the backyard and inside and loose the functionality? Makes zero sense
Why are people hating on this app?
It works fine. It connects reliably. It has access to most or all of the settings that you would otherwise have to use the remote to get to. You can adjust settings without switching the TV input to the receiver and without staring at the tiny screen trying to see what you're doing.

Always works and is very very handy. HEOS is great as well. GO DENON FTW!!

Denon AVR app
Terrible essentially useless app. Even thought my Denon is on the WiFi network, this app struggles to locate the unit. Every time I open the app it takes an hour to connect and most of the time, it doesn’t.

New update lacks Zone2 details
The latest update for “2026 models” has deleted input/output details (audio channels/ video resolution) for Zone2 HDMI. Complained to Denon support but they said it will have to be submitted as an “enhancement request” to developers.
No longer working after updating
Something is wrong after last update the app doesn’t work ive tried on two different apple devices and on android as well same result only shows demo mode thats it please fix it

Отлично работает с ресивером 2600x. Удобно управлять настройками. Отдельно еще поставил их приложение MultEQ, хоть и платное, но очень круто через него сработала автонастройка каналов под помещение. Штатная функция ресивера так не может.

En la última actualización no reconoce que está prendido en ave y debo cerrarla y volver a abrí para que reconozca que está encendido y usar las funciones. Espero puedan corregirlo denon 970

Used to work fairly well…
The app was fairly user friendly and functional until the last update. Now it’s useless. Smoke signals communicate better with the receiver now.
App updates make experience worse
I’ve been a Denon owner for 15 years. I have to manually turn AVR on any of my 2 AVRs. My AVR-x3400h takes the app at least 5min to recognize and I generally have to unplug the AVR. I only use the app to control zone 2, but a huge disappointment given I’ve invested in several HEOS devices as well.
Worked until just recently
Either an app update or iOS update broke this app. True I have the newest AVR, but it still should work. The app does find my receiver, but the only option I have is sleep timer (which does work), everything else is greyed out. This is just terrible and unacceptable
Terrible app update
Latest update is even worse than former version. Unbelievable bad app, shame on Denon. App looks like app from 10 years ago. Looks like they don’t care at all. Last time for me to use Denon / Heos.
Horrible App X1400h
Maybe one of the worst apps on the app store. Connected to a Denon X1400h receiver, I have to delete and reinstall the app almost daily. Occasionally, I might be able to stitch up to five days straight without having to delete and reinstall. It just sucks. We’ve had it for about eight years and it’s sucked for eight years.

Cannot easily control more than one zone, meaning cannot remotely control Zone 2 with this app.
