Almost worthless
You get the same ad-laden nightmare of their website, neither of which deliver local sports programming promised to local users. Blackmailing cable and satellite carriers into paying ridiculous fees to carry free broadcasts paid for by commercials galore isn’t enough money for Tegna, they gotta make you dig for the news articles hidden in a maze of advertising on their app, too. Not worth the bandwidth for the code.

What Happened to the App
I love 9News and am a dedicated watcher but what happened to the app? Why can I not search for a specific story? I have to scroll through whatever I don’t want or try to decide what category it might fall under and try to find it that way. I just end up closing the app and using Google to bring up the story I’m looking for. The weather upgrade is terrible, too. Hard to read the way it’s set up. Definitely not impressed with the update.

Live streaming is gone
I used to be able to go to this app and watch the evening news when I finally got around to making dinner at about 730 or 8 PM. I love that I could click on the news and it would just play the episode. Now it is all shorts in interspersed with many ads and I have to keep poking at it while I’m cooking. 😕
