What Happened to the App
I love 9News and am a dedicated watcher but what happened to the app? Why can I not search for a specific story? I have to scroll through whatever I don’t want or try to decide what category it might fall under and try to find it that way. I just end up closing the app and using Google to bring up the story I’m looking for. The weather upgrade is terrible, too. Hard to read the way it’s set up. Definitely not impressed with the update.

Live streaming is gone
I used to be able to go to this app and watch the evening news when I finally got around to making dinner at about 730 or 8 PM. I love that I could click on the news and it would just play the episode. Now it is all shorts in interspersed with many ads and I have to keep poking at it while I’m cooking. 😕

2026 Update is Terrible
8/3/26 -So sad to see this terrible app update is still out there. I will only click on articles from Facebook, since it still shows the old version of the app. I’ve turned off notifications for the 9News app on my phone. When I do forget and open the app, the font and formatting makes me cringe and I close again. I was hoping you’d ditch this dumpster fire but you haven’t so I’ve just deleted 9NEWS app from my phone and will use Denver7 from here on out, even though I prefer 9NEWS. I hope you all wake up and address this one day.

2/26 Edit to add the feature where you click on a notification and are greeted with a too long, extended welcome screen, followed by a grey screen where the article should be is especially annoying.

The update released early 2026 is absolutely terrible. The main screen loads less than 50% of the time, when it does load, it takes forever. Frequently get “Unable to Load” errors. The page layout and font is awful and hard to read. Miss the old app. Just downloaded Denver7. Will use that until this mess is fixed.

I would like them to change the app so it can be used when outside the US. 9News is the only news app that isn’t available when I travel to Europe.

I’d liked the app better prior to this update and format change. It is more difficult to search. I sometimes like to review an article that I’ve previously read and it can be very difficult to find that article again.

No matter what time of day be at the morning it’s rarely in the afternoon but evening the rest of the day whenever I watch the news channel 9 rocks there they are not biased. They give a very good objective view, and the people are above and beyond doing their duties, which is great.

I hate the new format
The new format of the 9 news app is far from user friendly. Prior to the changes it was so easy to maneuver through and find out which stories were of interest to me. Now with the new format, I find myself using different news sources because it is too confusing.

I enjoy the 9 news app and mainly go into it to get the correct weather forecast. My phone is always wrong it seems. My only complaint is the weather maps and radar cannot be zoomed in. They are so small you cannot tell the cities or even the counties. It would really help if that could be changed please. The same with the pictures on the stories. I guess we are all spoiled with being able to zoom in on our phones just about everything.
