Not working after trial
I purchased a subscription a week ago but the apple app keeps saying that I am on a free version. It doesn’t let me to listen to any books. Scam?

App doesn’t respond when I finish a book
Every time I finish a book the only way to select a new item is to delete the app and reinstall the app! This is extremely frustrating. I have gone to Desert Bookstore and complained only to be told to contact Deseret Bookshelf which doesn’t seem possible since I have to delete the app every time I try to do anything! I have a love/hate relationship with this app. I don’t use the app very often as result. I have been a subscriber for years and get frustrated a LOT. The app isn’t user friendly. One more thing is that the selection titles are very small print so I have to guess at what I am selecting.

I love to listen to audiobooks! During the day I have a job that allows me to listen occasionally and in the evenings. The deal Deseret Books has with their audiobooks is quite honestly the best deal out there! I canceled my audible account because Deseret Books clobbered them! I am so grateful! And this app makes navigating through my books very easy!

I love deseret bookshelf, there are so many different books and I love not having to worry about them being clean or not. I’ve paid for the premium plan and it’s definitely worth it as someone who goes throughout the day with a book in their ear 😂 admittedly there were quite a few glitches when I started using deseret book, but they have all been fixed and it’s more amazing than ever. Love all the authors and books!

This is a wonderful app! I listen to gospel book after gospel book. I tried to stick to the ones that will teach me something, or real life stories. Well, worth the money!

This app is essential for my gospel study. I love having this app open side by side with the Gospel Library and being able to copy and paste notes from the books in the Deseret Bookshelf to my scriptures.

Android (or maybe just Google Pixel?) users may have difficulty
I had an old iPhone and got an android phone (Google Pixel). I noticed that my phone would seem to stop every 20 seconds when I’d listen to an audiobook on Bookshelf. It was so annoying I kept my iPhone just to listen to Bookshelf. I had looked at settings but couldn’t figure out what was wrong. After a while My iPhone started giving me issues andI wanted to keep listening to my audiobooks so I searched my phone settings. I went into every single one and if it looked like it could be something that could cause a problem, I switched it and then saw if it affected the phone. I FINALLY found what it was but I took too long to write this review and can’t remember. I found out my friend with an Android phone (not sure if hers was a Pixel as well) had the same issue and she got so sick of it she cancelled her Bookshelf subscription. Maybe someone else has written a review with the specifics? It would be nice for Deseret to put what Android (or Google Pixel?) users need to do in the description. I assume the issue is just with the manufacturer’s factory settings that came with my specific phone but, oh my goodness, what a frustration it was!

At least once a week I am having to remove and re download the app because it buffers …it’s happening with more frequency. Highly annoying
User friendly, Great Content, Quality Audiobooks
I love the selection on this app. I listen to several books a month and appreciate having access to new arrivals seemingly every month. The audiobooks have great narrators in my opinion and it is well worth the monthly price. I love that I don’t have to worry about swearing or other inappropriate content and that there are so many books that my children can enjoy too. The Fablehaven books and audio in particular are exceptional and our whole family enjoyed them.
